This is complete bullshit.

First of all, the survey is about how women feel. They all feel economically disadvantaged when in reality, women - especially young women make more than than men.

From the article itself: "Amid an apparent boom in female empowerment and participation — a time in which women earn the majority of secondary degrees and represent more than half of the country's voters"

This is exactly what it's like on an individual level to be in a relationship with a woman. No matter how good things are, women will always complain. Women will always bitch about wanting more.

This survey is objective evidence that in spite of women doing better than men in the current economy, they think they're struggling.

[–]TRP VanguardVZPurp 38 points39 points40 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Moreover, even though they are objectively doing better than their male counterparts, because they feel disadvantaged, they will support policies that address their perceived disadvantage.

First of all, the survey is about how women feel. They all feel economically disadvantaged when in reality, women - especially young women make more than than men.

Yeah, and part of it is classic hamstering. The "men have amazing jobs and love going to work" strawman was created by feminism. A lot of women bought into this - and are now surprised to find that their jobs are actually a lot of work, uninspiring, and they don't have the endless mountain they were told they were going to.

There's an episode of The Office where 2 women are hired there, they come in enthusiastic, bright-eyed and bushy tailed. The whole episode goes downhill as it become clear that the reason they were hired was for a manipulative ploy by the manager to force regular employee to run into their ex's.

Like you said - women feel economically disadvantaged because that's what they're told is happening, so that's how they feel.

Another part of it is classic hamstering - they feel like something isn't right - so they rationalize it as "well, men still have it better", in reality it's "work sucks and there's never enough money to get what I really want".

Serious question: As I understand it, a bit part of feminism was allowing women to become career women. Why can't they all have "amazing jobs and love going to work" like you put it and stop complaining. Why are they still upset. Aren't they fking getting what they want?

Now we have thousands of women graduating with Political Science type degrees so they can go around complaining that "not enough girls are showing interest in math/sciences and technology and there should be a focus on getting more women into those fields!"

These crackpot journalist/bloggers/political activists/social engineers need to take a look in the mirror and ask: "Why didn't I become interested in math and science instead of this profession of unpaid internships being some chauvinists politician's coffee bitch?"

Can we get a source on this? Just so I have something to reference.

Go ask a stripper how much she makes in a night.

What qualifications does it take to be a stripper? Tits and the willingness to take off all your clothes.

[–]Eloni 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Can confirm, the strippers I work with make a lot of money.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah but they spend it all on crack and oxies.

[–]fiat_lux_ 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is something that is really easy to find on your own if you know the right terms.

He is referring to "never married" women.

Here is an example of what you can find when you search for the earnings of that group:

http://content.time.com/time/business/article/0,8599,2015274,00.html

The above article talks about "Young, Single, Childless Women".

Thanks man!

[–]FortunateBum 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Just Google it. Some people say this has been happening since 1975. If you have any knowledge of the job market, you'd think it preposterous to assume men make more.

I would think it's common knowledge at this point, but whatever.

Exactly. They always assume I am bad with money, but really I just bailed them out all the time because they can't handle it on their own. First ex gets nearly $6000 every month, lives in a $450 a month rental, drives a pos $2500 beater that she had to get a loan to buy, and is broke the second week of every month. She married an omega who is a disabled vet, and she gets $1500 from me every month for CS.

Why can't she live on that much? She is female, uses no logic, spends on impulse, and he has no spine.

Have you seen her stance in war?

I don't remember the exact quote, but it goes something like this.

"Women are the primary victims of war, they loose husbands, fathers, brothers "

The first time I read that I was baffled.

[–]5 Endorsed ContributorStayinghereforreal 26 points27 points28 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Here it is.

"Women have always been the primary victims of war. Women lose their husbands, their fathers, their sons in combat. Women often have to flee from the only homes they have ever known. Women are often the refugees from conflict and sometimes, more frequently in today’s warfare, victims. Women are often left with the responsibility, alone, of raising the children."--- Conference on domestic violence in San Salvador, El Salvador (17 November 1998).

Dead young men, deep in their graves' oblivion after suffering war's awfulest outcome, weep at the idea of how hard the still-living women have it in war.

It is solipsism and pandering all the way down with her.

[–]TRP Vanguard: "Dark Triad Expert"IllimitableMan 16 points17 points18 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Feminism is all about selling the idea women are victims no matter what, no matter how illogical or perverse whilst completely ignoring the male experience of humanity.

Comparisons are only drawn between men and women as long as it makes women look positive or weak/oppressed. If the comparison makes men seem more favourable it is kept quiet, ignored or disregarded out of hand.

Feminism is the ultimate pseudo scientific ideological bullshit of the 20th and early 21st century.

[–]5 Endorsed ContributorStayinghereforreal 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminism is all about selling the idea women are victims no matter what, no matter how illogical or perverse whilst completely ignoring the male experience of humanity.

Not ignoring, actively denying it, and turning any expression of it into an example of "privilege", a word utterly empty, except for the prejudice it seeks to excite.

[–]sticky_buddy -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That would be climate change. Or at least they go hand in hand.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Thanks, this is exactly.

Men as individuals are expendable, but for the love of god don't let the poor women suffer any kind of hardship.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If we didn't need them to build bombs in WWI we'd be perfectly fine right about now.

[–]ilike2partyhowaboutu 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If they are going to use that kind of logic.. we can just say that women are responsible for ALL wars as we men have to kill each other to protect our women from other women.

If women aren't victims, what are they fighting? What progress, what did they change, who did they make peace with?

What difference does it make?

-- Hilary Clinton

[–][deleted] 28 points29 points30 points 12 years ago (30 children) | Copy Link

You know what really fucks with me about these kinds of articles? Besides the obvious it's the way they talk about women like they're a new fucking species we just discovered in the late 1990s and no one's figured out exactly where they fit into the puzzle of society. Like some man got lost in the thick jungle of the local mall in the summer of '98 and, thirsty and delirious, he stumbled into a Victoria's Secret and discovered girls, and now us thoughtless men are having to rewrite the very laws of nature to account for them.

[–]TRP VanguardVZPurp 15 points16 points17 points 12 years ago (27 children) | Copy Link

When reading through material on psychology and persuasion, one of my gripes is that the material often doesn't specify sex or note for differences. It assumes the minds of men and women are interchangeable.

[–]MasterGolbez 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago (26 children) | Copy Link

pointing out sex differences is the most taboo thing in science besides pointing out race differences

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link

This, a million times this.

I see a few red pill posters are race realists, which makes sense. Once you realize that genders are different it's not much of a leap to figure out racial differences.

[–]DrXaos 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The biology of that is radically different.

[–]MasterGolbez 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

intersex differences are more significant than interrace differences but the latter are not insignificant

[–]ilike2partyhowaboutu -4 points-3 points-2 points 12 years ago (22 children) | Copy Link

race realists

To be honest.. as a white male.. I could go back in time to any period and be treated wicked awesome... how many other races can say that?

That's just reality.

[–]RobBobGlove 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Is that sarcasm?

If it's not, take a map of Europe and choose any year in recorded history. You probably had at least two nations killing each other, and don't even start on the living conditions: the Latvian potato jokes may be funny sometimes, but imagine it being 90% of your died.

I wonder if those crazies advocating for the mystical white male privilege have ever opened a history book.

[+]ilike2partyhowaboutu -6 points-5 points-4 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

So let's say I'm black and you are white and we pop back in time a few hundred years.

Who is going to have a better time?

[–]RobBobGlove 12 points13 points14 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"white" was invented a hundred years ago, before that everyone viewed you as your heritage.

There are so many factors to consider that race doesn't really matter... If we go back rich than both of us, if we go back with absolutely nothing than it matters where. If I go back to africa they would probably kill me on the spot, if you come back to Europe (depending where) you would have it much easier than me.

[+]ilike2partyhowaboutu -9 points-8 points-7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So I really am not privileged because I'm white?

Damn.. what a let down. :(

[–]vaker -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

So it's the white men's fault that they had built a more advanced civilization? The bastards!

you're cherry picking one place at one time compared to one group with no appreciation for what "white" even means

[–]vaker 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"and 28 million dependent children"

You could correct two problems at once by not blindly awarding women custody

[–]rule_of_law 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Unless there is proof of physical abuse, you know what would be better? Literally a pure coin toss. Is it going to leave one party extremely unsatisfied with the outcome? Yes. But then that makes both parties more likely to work to split custody 50/50.

Part of the problem with our justice system is that we let the perfect get in the way of the good. We would rather spend 4 weeks going through people's personal lives to decide who gets custody, than just accept the fact that, most of the time, a 3rd party with incomplete knowledge just isn't going to do as good of a job with custody as the mother and the father.

most women I know have toxic with spending habits. In my beta days I would provide the hell out of a relationship. Once a strong earning beta, heck even average earning beta is introduced into a relationship, women use the "combined income" theory. Combined income means she thinks she can spend more than she usually can because somehow YOU should know that you are supposed to save for a rainy day (car trouble, sick days, extra travel etc). This shit happened to me and I felt like crap for not being able to pull the weight of two at the time. I wish this on no one and I'm glad I woke up when I did. What is sad is that I believe these women at risk are making decent livable income but status updates on Facebook where bff's got a new pair of shoes makes them go out and try to top them. This leads to their financial demise.

[–]TRP Vanguard: "Dark Triad Expert"IllimitableMan 17 points18 points19 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Highly emotional + herd mentality + feelings of inadequacy + marketing aimed at women + sense of entitlement = hyper consumerism aka your average womans spending habits.

[–]Moneyley 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

This is the exact formula. Funny how there is hardly any subtraction in it. The subtraction part is transferred to the "beta" "hero" "man" "provider". It is unjust to men who grew in a culture to provide (under adequate and fair circumstances) that they transfer the label of "provider" to them to boost their ego. Its like they use "provider" as a euphomism for "he pays for everything, I just spend"

[–]TehGinjaNinja 17 points18 points19 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

My heart bleeds...

Oh, and this is priceless:

"Men are totally a part of this conversation, in terms of how they raise their daughters, in terms of how they support their wives and their partners,"

Yeah, not in terms of their wants and desires, just in terms of how they can service women.

[–]TRP VanguardVZPurp 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Pit against each other. What a fucking travesty

[–]TehGinjaNinja 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yup, but that's the modern world for you. Men and women are now competing classes, rather than complimentary. Men forget that at their peril.

[–]big_dick_tom 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

None of these women were having sex with me while I was in high school or getting my engineering degree, so I don't really care about their struggles.

[–]Villaintine 27 points28 points29 points 12 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

From the points presented in the story:

•75 percent wish they had devoted more time and energy to education and career — relative to 58 percent of the general population.

•73 percent wish they had made better financial decisions over the course of their lives — and so did 65 percent of the total survey group.

•Low-income women are more likely than men to regret tying the knot when they did — 52 percent versus 33 percent.

•And nearly one-third of low-income women with children wish they had postponed having children — or had fewer of them.

It seems to me that Gillibrand's quote "We have to do better," is absolutely right- if "we" is in regards to women in general. Women need to understand that their choices have consequences that will affect them for the rest of their lives and be prepared to make well-thought out choices rather than going on "muh feels" or by the spur of the moment.

In short women from the earliest ages need to be taught responsibility.

[–]fiat_lux_ 17 points18 points19 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

To be fair, all of the above seems to suggest that women should postpone getting married and focus more on education and career.

It seems to be in direct contrast with much of the wisdom of the manosphere, i.e. marry early, worry about education/career later... which I originally thought made sense gleaning from opinions like Crittenden's.

[–]Villaintine 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It depends entirely how you decide to group and view the statistics- these stories always group things that could very well be unrelated and try to guide your perception- that's just effective writing. For example:

•75 percent wish they had devoted more time and energy to education and career — relative to 58 percent of the general population.

Nowhere does it state that these women started families instead. perhaps they just spent more time on frivolous activities or working a dead-end job instead of pursuing education or better employment.

•73 percent wish they had made better financial decisions over the course of their lives — and so did 65 percent of the total survey group.

Again this says nothing specific regarding families- perhaps it's just wishing she hadn't wasted money on that tramp stamp, purse, or extra pair of shoes. Women are notorious for being higher volume consumers than men.

•Low-income women are more likely than men to regret tying the knot when they did — 52 percent versus 33 percent.

Notice the key wording "when they did," - perhaps I've been here too long but this just screams that they are jealous of their friends who got to ride the cock carousel while they instead chose to marry.

•And nearly one-third of low-income women with children wish they had postponed having children — or had fewer of them.

This one occurs to me that women realized they missed out on the carousel or didn't ride as long as they could have and realized they've irreparably damaged their SMV having children during what were likely their highest SMV years.

[–]Clauderoughly 14 points15 points16 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

nothing wrong with women focusing on a career.

Problem is they go into fields based on their "feels" rather an objective look at what the market is paying based on skills.

So we have humanities flooded with women who are unemployable, and men making bucketloads of money in the dirty, blue collar and STEM fields.

Women are just awful at choosing career paths.

Women are just awful at choosing career paths.

They chose the career paths they're capable of. Too bad that the economy has limited need for bullshit artists.

This always reminds me of the gym. Guys lifting shit. Most females hang around and flap their jaws with each other. I'm sure afterwards they tell everybody how hard they worked out at the gym when they did near nothing.

To be even more fair, these women are just trying to push the blame on external factors.

75 percent could have "devoted more time and energy to education and career", but they didn't - It's not like they anybody barred from education. Don;t forget that even today when more women are earning degrees, they don't produce as much as their male counterparts.

Also, only 30% "of low-income women with children wish they had postponed having children — or had fewer of them." - and it's not like we don't have birth control.

Don't fool yourselves, they'll claim it's all because of the Patriarkey

Women need to understand that their choices have consequences that will affect them for the rest of their lives and be prepared to make well-thought out choices rather than going on "muh feels" or by the spur of the moment.

Feminist response: How dare you misogynists uphold the patriarchy!

In short women from the earliest ages need to be taught responsibility.

Unless we figure out how to go to parallel universes, this is not going to happen. It makes my blood boil, but this really just won't happen.

I think my favorite part of the article was the picture of the "stressed out," nicely dressed, white woman working her office job.

The article was explicitly addressing women working in minimum wage jobs and I would bet my house that the overwhelming majority of women which comprised those statistics were not white, i.e. non-white women working in places like McDonald's.

But, in the end...fuck'em. Sounds like women reaping as they have sown.

[–]Aaron565 13 points14 points15 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminism was never meant for the colored woman.

Its for white entitled women to feel even more entitled.

"Many women who responded to the poll said they wished they had stayed in school longer and Shriver said fathers and husbands need to reinforce the mindset that women can set themselves up to be breadwinners.

"Men are totally a part of this conversation, in terms of how they raise their daughters, in terms of how they support their wives and their partners," she said.

"Leave out the women, and you don't have a full and robust economy. Lead with the women, and you do," Shriver wrote in the report. "It's that simple, and Americans know it."

Did I just read that correctly?
Men are the problem that women are in debt!?
Excuse me?!?

A constant I've found is that whenever you see headlines like this, it's pretty safe to assume that whatever it is also affects men but in greater numbers and/or more severity.

"When women do well, men do well and the nation does well," Shriver said.

clearly...

Fear not though, men will have to bail you out. Obviously men fault that more women lives in poverty. I think 1 out of 7 homeless people are female so they still have a long way to go to "equality".

Women under 30 earn more than men under 30 now. More graduate college. More get hired.

Women under 30 earn more than men under 30 now. More graduate college. More get hired.

Therefore, we should give women more money as a safety net against this newly discovered risk. I suggest we tax men to account for their privilege.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

As a man, I feel it absolutely imperative that a shoe tax be applied for all men, and only men. This will lessen the burden of women when purchasing necessary, materialistic items. /s/

Jokes aside, I can see a tax for being single male introduced because clearly, men not throwing their lives away on some entitled cunt should be punished. There are tax benefits for married people so we sort of are paying it right now anyway, but I expect lefties to throw such idea in the near future just to make more women vote on them.

[–]TRP VanguardVZPurp 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I don't seem them clamoring for a bachelor tax yet, but I do see regular articles in the newspaper about women pushing for higher salaries, enforced by the federal government. Some nonsense about "equal pay for equal work" despite young women out-earning young men.

Shit needs to get worse before it can get better. Without a major collapse they won't be told to STFU.

[–]TRP VanguardVZPurp 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That role really belongs to men. Men can step in before it runs into the ground. That would require males to find their balls.

Nonetheless, in the event of collapse, women would flounder, so it becomes required.

[–]vaker 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Bachelor tax would push even more men away from working hard on a career. More males check out, less economic output. Recipe for success, I tell you!!

"We have to teach our boys the rules of equality and respect, so that as they grow up, gender equality becomes a natural way of life"

By equality, it is meant that men should be taught that being thrown scraps and expected to support women is the only acceptable course of action.

"We have to do better," Gillibrand wrote. "That requires demanding better from our elected leaders, and to me, that means changing the face of those leaders so that their agendas reflect women's needs."

They demand additional welfare programs to support their hard work and effort of simply existing.

"When women do well, men do well and the nation does well,"

This is laughable.

[–]Clauderoughly 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Just wait.... Eventually they'll fold and introduce a "man tax" and hand it straight to women.

[–]Villaintine 12 points13 points14 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I can't recall if I'd seen it posited here or on a youtube video but it was brought up that there will likely be additional tax on single males after a certain age or conversely additional tax breaks for married couples or women raising children.

He stated the end result for men to be able to keep more of their income would be to enter into gay marriages. I found it ludicrous at the time but the more I see articles like the OP it seems more and more like the type of ridiculous articles the Onion has- where satire tends to be a spot on reflection of reality.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I know for certain someone on here posited that two straight men should get into gay marriages for the benefits because bigamy laws state one person can only be married to another person.

As a result if two dudes have no intention of getting married (in the conventional sense) then it may make sense for them to get married for the benefits (tax breaks) and to prevent 'marriage by adhesion' in states which permit stupid things like if a woman lives with you for 2+ years she's got all the rights as a legal marriage including alimony and the like.

The only caveat to this would be that you should either get a kid through a surrogate mother going through the proper channels (ie. invitro type stuff rather than turkey baster). Because paying child support for 18 years because some dumb cunt decides that she wants to keep the baby would suck.

Heh. I haven't thought of this, but it makes total sense.

How are the alimony rules for gay marriages? 'Cause I want to pay alimony for some dude even less.

[–]Sunakujira 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

your stuff is yours. my stuff is mine. probably like that.

then when gay marriages is spiking, there will be gay tax to support womyn.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well you could always do some sort of prenup and treat it more like a business venture than anything else.

Though I would guess if two straight dudes got married for legal benefits and protections the odds of them wanting divorce would be minimal at best and would only likely happen if one dude wanted to go marry a woman (not likely if they follow the advice around here).

Can I say something that has bothered me since I entered the workforce? Every woman that I've worked with, every single one, has cried at one point or another and demanded more money as she shed those tears. Every single time that happened I would go to the lunch room to laugh my ass off. I am in accounting, I know exactly how much each person makes (because I help process the payroll) and what each person does (because I help write the job descriptions), and in each and every case, the woman who cried and claimed she was underpaid and over worked was getting paid as much as, or more than, the men who had the exact same workload. The difference? the men sit at their desks working the full 8-10 hour shifts, the women? they work for 4 or 5 hours, and spend the remaining 3 hours complaining about their boyfriends/husbands, their pets, the fact that, god forbid, they have to clean or cook at home etc. A few days ago I was working my ass off trying to finish up some reports, and the lady beside me spent an hour agreeing with the other lady that there was something wrong with the other lady's son. They sat there and talked about how dumb he seemed when compared to his sister, and then it became a whole generalization where the entire male gender was somehow dumber than the female gender. This is a man's own mother talking shit about him like that. It's like they don't understand the notion of professionalism. Mind you, I'm not saying all women are like this, I'm just saying that all the women I've personally worked with are.

These problems women suffer are of their own making. Yeah they get advanced degrees. But in fluff majors that no one cares about. Like Fashion.

Second, women have a shop til you drop mentality. I dated a woman who lived with her parents and had two jobs. She had no savings.

And how many times have you heard about men who marry women and discovered that their lady are $60,000 in debt. Then her debt becomes his debt.

All financial problems women have are their own making. Men go to college to study engineering and accounting. They save, invest, buy homes. Women go to school to major in fashion design. And when they get out they spend all their money on shoes.

And who pays for all of this. Men. We do the responsible thing with our money. Women who are broke race to government looking for government programs and bail outs.
