First dates don’t need to be anything besides a stroll through a park or a chat at a cafe. Neither of those things cost significant amounts of money.

It doesn't have to be expensive. My first dates are always "drinks". That means we go and have a drink or 2 each.

If you can't afford that you have some other life issues you need to get straightened out first.

If u spend money u set urself up to be perceived as the bank. dont do it. If she doesnt pay for few rounds at first 'drinks' date its a red flag for me.

They aren't prostitutes. You don't need to pay them to have sex with you.

I don't take plates on dates. They only come to my place once or twice per week. I offer them wine, and occasionally we'll order takeout.

I don't know if this is the reason but my plates eventually frizzle out after about 3-5 months. I guess this is when they realize I don't give two shits about them. I should probably ask about this.

What country are you guys from? I literally never had a girl get mad or whatever for not getting her drinks. I live in Ireland and only do bars as the first outing.

My method is that I usually arrive 5-10 minutes earlier order myself a pint and start chatting to the barman and other customers at the bar. Not only I get in the social zone by talking to people but also cause I have half a pint in me before she arrives.

When she arrives after greeting she will always get herself a drink as she notices you're already drinking.

But even if we arrive at the same time I always order from the bar for both of us and tell the barman that were paying separately never had a girl say anything to that ever. Maybe my SMV is high, maybe Irish girls are used to buying shit loads of drink but I couldn't care less, works for me.

Never fucking pay please guys just do not, we need to move the world in the right direction not backwards..

Check out Rian Stone’s thoughts on escalating during a date. Start off with coffee shop, if it goes well, move to pub. Don’t waste time and money if it’s going nowhere. If you mean you are spinning plates and get what you need, how to do keep up financially? I would say, if you’ve got a good plate and that’s doing everything you want and need, they should be splitting bills etc. just like an LTR anyway.

The better you get at this the less you spend. Most of my first dates are going out for coffee where I only buy my own. When I spend the most time watching netflix is when I'm with plates. They get rotated on who gets the "good" date for the week on saturday and that's only if there's something I feel like doing and it's rarely if ever expensive, playing minigolf, going to a museum/park, a movie. Plate spinning isn't the same as having multiple LTRs, plates are low effort and you let them break when they ask too much.
