Yeahhh no, tell that to Wonder Woman and her cult of men. Men literally worship Gal Gadot. It's all in the features and how the color suits you. Rihanna is another example, she's had the best men fall for her, including a billionaire from Dubai. She's wearing jet black hair most of the time and she looks gorgeous. Also, the modern trend of Instagram modeling was set by Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian and they have the shiniest black hair ever. And we all know Instagram is THE platform to showcase beauty standards. Men prefer whatever they find most pleasing to the eyes, haircolor alone doesn't cut it.

That girl in particular just doesn’t look good brunette, it has nothing to do with men preferring blonde but more to do with how SHE looks as a blonde vs. brunette.

I think this study should be called "men prefer 6s to 4s".

To my eye (as a woman), she looks far more attractive as a blonde... but I don't think it is a function of the blonde alone so much as the blonde with her skin tone and features. Let's break it down.

She is average looking with dark hair, but it does her a couple disservices. I say none of this below to try to make the author look bad or be mean toward her looks, but just so we can break down why the blonde look favors her.

First, the dark hair washes her somewhat-pale skin out, but the contrast isn't high enough to be striking. Pale skin can be so flattering witb the right hair tones but it can look sickly with the wrong ones.

Also, her dark hair makes her thin brows more noticeable. Just from a woman's perspective, thin brows are kinda "out".

The way she styles her hair, pulled back, also doesn't flatter her forehead. But it is far more glaring with the higher contrast dark hair. A layered cut or bangs would help a lot, notice how much better she looks as a blonde with side-bangs.

Are men allowed to comment here? If so, let me say that if I were to list out all the things I find important in a mate hair color would be at the bottom. Even just at just the physical attraction level it wouldn’t mean much as long as the hair color matches the skin tone.

The pictures are very different. Her blonde version has a lot of party girl vibes so it makes sense that she has more likes on tinder.

That’s not true. Other studies say men notice blondes but marry brunettes. Lots of men go weak at the knee for brunettes or redheads. All this hair color nonsense is just that. Do your hair how you want and let it work with your skin tone and eyes.

Just read the article and it’s just ONE girl on TINDER the “study” has no value. That particular girl doesn’t wear that light brown red hair color well. It ages her especially with that awful red lipstick. She looks younger blonde AND she has more relaxed open facial expressions in the blonde photos; in the brown ones she’s making awkward try hard faces. Plus it’s tinder and people swipe right on who they think will be more sexual. This is basically just silly and only applies to this one girl.

Edit: just found out she literally used younger photos of herself for the blonde pics. 🤦‍♀️

Her photos in the blonde pictures are better quality and show more of her body. In the blonde collection, she's wearing a 'going out' dress and shows more of her skin/figure. In the brunette photos, she is hiding her body and she has strange camera close-ups (not flattering for most people). She specifically just looks a bit better as a blonde. Better photos = more attention.

There’s multiple studies that contradict it too. Maybe don’t take what tinder guys find attractive as what is most attractive for ltr. Blonde hair girls are considered more fun, youthful, and easier but are considered dumber and worse mothers. Brunettes are seen as more beautiful yet colder/more unapproachable while redheads are fiery. Color theory is important. Nothing looks as bad as unnatural blonde or not taken care of (toning and root touch up).And on some features/skin color/eye color blonde can look off. If you do go blonde make sure it’s the right shade and undertone. I have a light brown to blonde balayage which I feel is the best of both worlds. Low maintenance and trendy enough.

Different hair colors in some study I read years attract different types of "relationship material" perceptions, but personally I think that is just due to media portrayal.

this is so weird you just posted this because i was just talking about this to my friends. i've always had jet black hair and the last time i had tinder in may i had black hair. i re downloaded tinder a few days ago and since may i dyed my hair significantly lighter, like light brown with blonde highlights. i got significantly more likes with my black hair than i'm getting with my light hair, and i can't help but blame the hair.

Weird you posted this! I was just talking to my BF and best friend about this, we weren’t sure it was true anymore. I live in LA and I feel as though women don’t seem to be dyeing their hair blonde so much anymore. I’m a natural blonde, and always used to get comments on it or new people with their annoying blonde jokes, lol. Not so much any more. Weird to see that at least in this experiment, it is preferred.

Guy here. I've never understood this stereotype. I think maybe the slight majority of guys prefer blonde hair, but who cares. I personally find dark hair to be way more attractive to blonde hair. It looks more sexy and womanly. I don't think I've ever been all that attracted to a woman with blonde hair. Just my 2 cents

I am naturally blonde and I dyed my hair red and brown. Men approached me most when Im self-confident and happy. (Even though there was a certain kind of men who LOVED red hair and Iranian men are somehow crazy about natural blonde hair.)

Like many others here have mentioned, it has to do more with an individuals general coloring than their hair color. I look terrible as a blonde; my dark eyebrows and freckles would look out of place with any shade of blonde.

Also look at her photos, the blonde has significantly more dimension and highlights, whereas the brunette looks more flat. The only way to correctly do a study like this is to have incredibly similar photos/ poses at the same age.

I think this is because darker skin/hair is subconsciously linked to indigenous/african/eastern roots, and hierarchichally, in western societies, it's linked to low level. In other words; you see a blonde, your brain must think her ascendense is blonde, and blondes have ruled the world. So, having a blonde kid would in some way give the child a bonus.

My theory should be tested in other societies/environments where this is not the case, and other skin/hair colour has won. For example, in an african tribe, with no contact with civilizations, the best atributes for a woman may be different, such as being the leader's daughter, having moustrous tits, idk.

And lastly, I'd say men like colourful childish tones for women. Black/dark is kind of strong, neutral, terrifying. White/light is nice, warm, colourful. Blonde is like light. Brunnete is like Darkness.
