An observation on the difference between how men and women empathize:

Let's say I, a woman, is planning on robbing a bank. I currently have a husband, house, all that stuff. I consider how my robbing the bank will effect my husband. Not good if I don't succeed. If I do, our lives will have to change. Because it'll probably effect him negatively, I decide not to rob the bank.

A man planning on robbing a bank, with a wife and a house, will conclude that his wife will support his decision to rob the bank. He presumes that his wife will empathize with his decision. He robs the bank. His wife is unhappy with that decision. Her unhappiness is then a symptom of her inability to empathize.
