Somewhat personal but also a general question. I was a religious virgin when I found TRP three years ago. Since then I have started higher education, bought my own apartment, gotten interesting part time jobs while I am at college, gotten a fit and muscular body and better fashion sense and had sexual relations with a more than a handful of women (not ONS).

But however, I have also become much more cynical and nihilistic, and also depressed. "The pill" was hard to swallow as they say, and I started reading Dawkins, evolutionary psychology, etc. In somewhat misguided attempts to be more assertive and dominant I became more impatient, critical, dismissive and contemptuous of my friends. I saw relationships more and more for whats in it for me. I did a lot of tinder in my first year "after TRP" and was pretty secretive and lied about to my christian friends - I became uncomfortably comfortable with just saying white lies. In some of my relationships with females I was pretty douche, just bailing when things became to close and they wanted a relationship. So I am much more isolated and unfriendly now than three years ago, when I was a pretty social guy. I have gotten comments from old friends that I have changed and are more bitter.

All of this have given me short term sexual success, but I really do not like the path I have gone down. Some part of me want to live connected with others and true to pro-social values. As lot of others I have watched many hours of Jordan Peterson (cliche, I know) and what he says really speaks to me. Whatever darker shadows I have in my personality I still need to take responsibility, speak truth and contribute to society I want a good life.

I know that my problems are mine and many people reading TRP have their shit together, but I also see this problem commented and discussed from the more insightful and experienced posters on the TRP forums. I think there is a pitfall just chasing girls and validation that will make its mark on your soul over time if you are not anchored in something. Any thoughts? Where to proceed from here?
