TRP and entitlement

It's not that entitlement is inherent to TRP, but it's commonly cultivated there. Reds believe in being the prize, which often translates to them thinking a woman should be groveling to be with them. Case in point is this post, where the OP thinks his plates should be treating him like a king. I can find plenty of examples if the guy is in a LTR or married too. It seems they want their SO to put them on a pedestal.

Some of them act that way. Not ALL of them. I’d agree that the majority of the rhetoric of the SUB is basically: get your shit together and improve. But that doesn’t mean you don’t see self-proclaimed terpers who seem to have some air of entitlement about them.

Frankly I don’t like the whole concept of “entitlement” the way it’s used around here anyway. It’s hard to parse out just how someone feels, it’s an overused term often employed just to diss someone who may just be making some valid complaints. Who knows whether they genuinely feel they deserve something they don’t (and how do you even measure or determine that?). So it’s not really something you’ll see me arguing a lot.

Probably the clearest example to me, if I had to pick one, is the lamenting over the fact they didn’t get HS girls when they were younger. That comes off a little “entitled” to me although again I don’t like that term. Maybe “resentful” or letting trivial matters occupy their focus is a bit of a better descriptor. Idk.

I haven’t noticed them saying that about entitlement. It’s really more like their absolute obsession with sex and their inability to believe that physical attractiveness is the deciding factor in sex happening for them. It’s a factor but you can’t “attractive” your way past boorishness, failure, stupidity, cruelty, the other person’s limitations and whatnot.

I frequently get accused of entitlement on here by saying I won't put up with a large number of soul sucking harpy behaviors or other things that make spending time with a particular girl horrible

What if a Wannabe Alpha does all of the things prescribed by TRP, but still doesn't see results?

Wouldn't the naturally conclusion be that this man believes he's entitled to women because he "put in the work?"

'Entitlement' has become a go-to word for people who want to be assholes to people who are going through a rough time and just need someone to stop and acknowledge it's rough for them for two seconds, and treat them like a human being. It's so simple and easy it's amazing how far we've gotten from the intuition of that. Once they get a little lift from their fellow human beings, most are able to stand up again and continue moving forward.

Instead, we shit on people when they come to us for that on the internet. Which in turn both makes them shittier people and keeps them stuck in their fallen place.

What shouldn't have to be explained about entitlement is that we ALL have a sense of entitlement. We live easy lives in a modern society that does not require us to go spear a boar or else starve to death. We expect that being a good person who gets a big piece of bad luck and hardship will be enough to make at least some of our fellow humans go, "Well, that seems unfair. Tough break, we're with ya, buddy!" Yes, there are starving people in Africa or who would be glad to this and that in your place, but perhaps we should have noticed at some point that telling someone that as a means of invalidating their emotional experience has never actually had positive results, ever.

I don't think anyone who ever complained about being lonely online expected people there to alter the laws of physics for them. I do think they expected a basic level of humanity and not a wall of tough-guy 'life ain't fair, suck it the fuck up', or worse, 'it's actually all your fault because you're a horrible person.' People just need to be acknowledged sometimes, then you open the door to the self-help stuff. Again, so simple it's amazing how far we stray from that so often.

There are valid criticisms to the Red Pill. Entitlement isn't one of them. Is it made up of people who feel entitled or might have once been entitled prior to discovering it? Sure. A lot of men were given terrible Blue Pill advice and their frustration leads them to take the pill.

Is the Red Pill advice entitled? Hell no. It's independent in nature - focusing on self. Nobody owes you anything, it's about what you earn. Want to take a shot at TRP, be my guest. At least have valid criticisms that understand the position.

Actually the more liberal "just be yourself" and happiness will follow line seems more entitled to me. It seems to imply that you're entitled to happiness (i.e. a girls) just for breathing. TRP teaches that you have to work to get what you want and even if you do work your butt off there is no guarantee you will succeed. TRP also teaches that life is not fair -- that some people have the deck stacked against them (e.g. short guys). All in all the opposite of entitled.
