I had a male friend say this exact thing to me recently. He said something like, I really don't care what I do for a living, but if I want to date the sort of girl I like, I need to get a good job/start working out/etc. They know.

Something else I have thought about is that when a woman obtains a higher degree or other learnings it is more likely to stem from a true interest in the study itself, not to get attention from men. A lot of men will go into fields they are not actually that interested in for the sake of higher status and money for the sole purpose of impressing women and hence sex. It's all about MuH pEnIs.

Men will take a woman out to concerts, restaurants and dancing endlessly just to be around one. Just to get to talk to her, look at her, smell her perfume, watch her laugh and smile. I had quite a few men like this. Never dated them or slept with them.

I used to work with men . It’s crazy how all their conversations were about women.

I would watch them chase, talk about that hot girl who doesn’t text them back. Get nervous when a girl is ignoring them but still like them a lot.

Spending hours on tinder in a hope of getting a match. Dancing when they get one .

I told myself that if a man doesn’t behave the way my colleagues did with the girls they liked, I’m not interested

It's like bower birds. The male makes a pretty nest and hopes he'll find a nice female bird to spend time with him in it.

If he's being outperformed by a bird, I'm not interested.

If your couch doesn't have throw pillows, I'm not interested. If you don't have plants, I'm not interested. If you don't display at least one work of art, I'm not interested.

I don't even entertain anyone who went furniture shopping at the dump behind goodwill.

I understand the premise, but I wouldn't want to date the kind of guy who only does these things to get a girl.

I would want him to have his own internal aspirations and motivations to succeed not do it to impress me.

Yeah but they do this for their egos, not because they truly want a woman in their lives.

Successfully impressing a high value woman = they are manly, not losers, they have something to brag about to their friends, good for the ego.

They dont care about the woman herself. Its about the ego, just like everything in their lives.

So Id change the sentence to "ego is the center of men's world and they would like to feed it by impressing women".

I’m Jewish and was taught that women are the center of the home, entrusted with educating their children and are the driving force behind all goodness in the world. This is why Judaism passes down through the mothers line- it is assumed that a man is incapable of properly teaching his children. So a Jewish father doesnt have Jewish children unless they also have a Jewish mother. I had to convert bc my father is Jewish and, of course, he never bothered to teach me anything anyways. It is said that with out women, tress would never be planted, building would never be built, nothing would be invented and the world of knowledge would never expand. Basically we would all be in caves eating raw meat still.

The other side of the coin is that women are expect to do ALL of the work in the (traditional) household while the men study Torah. Orthodoxy is problematic for many reasons in many cultures but overall women are honored and respected.
