I have a really hard time understanding why women identify as feminists.

From my perspective, yes, women still have some problems. But right now the top problem women face are man-spreading, cat calling and societal pressure to look pretty. Feminism has won the war. Women are more equal to men in most areas, and as a humanist, I have no problem fighting for women's rights when they are actually oppressed. I just don't see any oppression currently.

Humanity is facing so many more devastating and important problems right now that need to be addressed. By identifying as a feminist, you've already drawn a line in the sand that basically says, "If it doesn't help women in some way, fuck you. Not my problem." Feminism divides. It does not bring us together.

Humanism is growing, and I wonder if there is any point at which you would drop your feminist affiliation for a humanist one. If not, why not?
