guy 2. he's clearly a hard worker, and earned the things he has through that hard work; i appreciate and admire that. i think both men have their risks, but out of the two, i choose guy 2.

I don't think either of these descriptions give me enough info to determine attractiveness. Looks and personality are what makes a person attractive to me.

Guy #2 clearly works hard, which is a plus, but being born into a privileged lifestyle doesn't mean that guy #1 doesn't work just as hard. Your parents can be rich and give you advantages while still teaching you the value of good work ethic.

Guy 1, no doubt about it. You said nothing about their actual personalities - I've known people who worked hard all their lives but were complete twats to other people. I knew men who went through incredible hardships only to use their experiences as a club to lord over others and beat people down. Plus, attractive > unattractive.

Guy number two, so long as I find something about him physically attractive. I grew up rich, surrounded by guys like number one, and they all bored me to death. Guy number two sounds interesting, like he's faced some hardships and overcame them which displays character.

I don't need the financial support of guy number one, he doesn't seem very interesting, and while he may be attractive I still like to talk to my sex/relationship partners about something other than his latest trip to Switzerland.

Guy 2 by default. He is an average, maybe slightly above average guy. Accessible and relatable.

Guy 1 would have no incentive to work hard and no incentive to settle down. He'll plate models until his trust fund runs out. Or be president of the US, whichever happens first.

If I weren't a dyke, guy 1. We have more in common. There were odd social/cultural differences that unexpectedly popped up when I dated people of vastly different backgrounds from myself.

I'm guessing you mean more attractive to the general population? So probably Guy 1. If you meant more attractive to me, I couldn't say. Guy could be a red piller/really be into watching sports/be a wine snob/just not have anything in common with me.

I wish you would have been more descriptive of their individual personalities. While it's admirable that Guy 2 is a hard worker, it doesn't mean Guy 1 is lazy or stuck up just because he was born into a privileged family. I admire guys who come from poorer backgrounds and work hard (reminds me of my first boyfriend), but that doesn't mean their personalities are inherently better. My second boyfriend was from a privileged background and he was just as sweet, hard-working, and genuine as the first one.

There are too many personal factors in play. I would personally feel more comfortable around Guy 2, because his background aligns a lot more with my own than Guy 1's.

That said, as long as these guys are just notional, I have no idea who is more attractive. That is impossible to judge without actually being around them.

You haven't told us anything about their personalities. Relying on stereotypes, Guy 1 is probably really cocky and slept with way too many girls to be considered for a LTR. And he's so much in love with himself he wouldn't be interested in having a partner anyway. I have several friends that would fit your description and they have this non-carish attitude, "if I don't have any money, I'll ask mom for some"; they don't feel the need to work hard, they don't understand how it feels when you can't afford to buy something. They will spend all the money they can lay their hands on without thiking twice. I like good-looking guys, but I've never been really attracted to any of them. Just looking, like at a picture.

When it comes to Guy 2, he sounds ok, unless he has absolutely no hobbies or wants to stay home all the time, which, unfortunately, are common traits for this type. But I'd generally go for Guy 2.
