When you grew up, did your parents have an equal relationship or was there a power dynamic?

The power dynamic was terrible. Constant fights because my dad never wanted to do anything and was incredibly lazy and whiny, while mom was the one actively pursuing career opportunities and at the same time taking care of four kids, two with severe mental disabilities.

Did your parents teach you any red pill truths, blue pill truths or anything about dating at all? If not, from where did you get your knowledge about dating?

I would say they're more conservative than RP or BP. Both judge promiscuity, whether it be male or female, and have pretty defined ideas on gender roles. Yet they always encouraged higher education and a strong sense of autonomy.

Do your parents take active interest in your dating life?

Mom, yeah. Despite her sex-fearing ways she was constantly trying to set me up with someone during HS, and wanted me to give every single guy a chance.

How is your relationship to your father different from the one to your mother?

Hated my dad's guts at one point. Despite refusing to take responsibility for anything (he instead wanted mom to do all the work), he had the gall to cheat and hit her once or twice.

Because of that, I guess I became a friend and protector of my mom. It kind of sucks having to console your own mother about her failed marriage and family, but I love her very much.

Would you say your father/mother is a role model?

Mother definitely is. She worked her way up from penniless to incredibly successful, and always did her part of the marriage and more. She became an incredible mother despite the odds.

I would never want to be anything like my father.

I guess I started judging my mom's opinions on relationships less. I also think a big factor in my interest in these dynamics is my father. He was a weak figure, and yet, my mother somehow let him be higher than her though he didn't deserve to be. When I find a husband, if I can't have a completely equal say, I at least want one that will want an equal role in the work that goes into a family.

Growing up, my parents were pretty equal. They were on the same page about what they wanted and worked as a team to get there.

My parents didn't really talk about dating, relationships or sex beyond the "how babies are made" stuff. My girlfriends and I got our information about dating and relationships from each other, books and magazines.

I didn't date in high school. When I got to uni, my parents were polite to the (two) boys I was serious enough about to bring home to meet them. They weren't nosy about my personal life.

I have a good relationship with both of my parents. It grew stronger after I had children of my own. They have their flaws and shortcomings, but are decent people and good role models.

Uhh , my parents relationship is pretty weird . My father is the definition of a sigma male since he actually does have dominant behavior but he hates all sort of responsibility so he avoid leadership and prefers to smoke weed and hang out with his friends . My mother does pretty much everything around the house .I would say they love each other but they also fight sometimes .

My dad is probably a bad role model except if you want to be eternally carefree and not give a fuck about anything . My mother is a pretty decent role model because she actually gets things done . Sadly , I have the same personality with my father except that I lack his charm and I'm also pretty mentally disturbed .

I have a good relationship with my mother and a bad relationship with my father , just like my brother . This doesn't mean I don't love my father , we just can't get along even if we have similar qualities .

My mom gave shit advice that sounded good but wasn't. My dad was more concerned about me railing some girls but not getting them knocked up.

But active interest? No.

They're both fine people.

I can, but I'm going to do this from just the approach to dating, relationships, sex, etc. So this is going to read like I hate my parents or something, but I'm just talking about this particular topic. They have taught me very important things in other departments that have been very valuable in my life, plus I can't say I was never provided to or anything.

In my eyes, my mother went from "goddess" to "self-centered narcissist who's starting to wake up to her own flaws and that makes me appreciate her more" and my father from "terrible evil man" to "he's been struggling all his life to feel appreciated and ended in a relationship that made him miserable, but he's found peace and happiness in his own hobbies and I respect that".

When it comes to relationships, both are terrible.

Yes and yes, but it's a process that started a bit before acquiring specific red pill knowledge.

They divorced before I was born so I never saw them together but my mum and her husband who raised me since birth were pretty equal.

Nope, nothing from either side, learned everything by myself if I went wrong then my mum would always be there for a cuddle but rarely tried to give advice.

They ask normal questions and its clear they want me to be happy but they don't intrude.

I'm much much closer to my mother, can tell her almost anything. I met my father when I was around 8 years old so he feels a little bit like a stranger, we're very formal and polite to each other when we do talk which is about 3 times a year.

Ish, my mum tends to have some typical bad female traits like getting irrationally upset if her boyfriend does something not particularly wrong but she is a wonderful woman, usually strong willed and doesn't put up with bullshit but she's also amazingly caring and was basically made to be a mother and a carer, I'd love to be like that.

My dad's rich and in a good job but he's a total push over, I don't think she's ever stood up to my step-mum.

Nope, they didn't teach me about dating at all. I learned about dating from a combination of watching peers date, dating myself, and reading articles backed by actual data. My uncle tried to give me dating advice that I'd consider RP-esque. "Women think like __. Guys are like __." It was always pretty funny when he got a blank look on his face whenever something I did or said went against his preconceived notions. I could almost hear his mind saying 'this does not compute'.

Dear god. In my teenage years my mother was overly worried about me dating. In my college years she was overly worried about me not dating. I didn't tell her what I was doing at all because she pried so much.

I don't see people as role models but let's just say I'd rather turn out like my father than like my mother.

My mum told me I should keep my weight low and exercise to remain attractive and that men and women are different.

My dad told me bullshit like if a wife cheats on her husband then it must be the husband's fault.

I listened more to my mum, luckily.

But it's still not something that was really discussed often or openly by either, most of my info on the topic comes from pure personal experience.

That opened my eyes a bit to the fact gender roles seem to persist even where they don't seem to make sense. Almost as if they're biological...

I'd say they kind of just accepted their differences and learned to live with the other one's quirks for better or for worse. My dad was usually working or with friends, and my mom mainly raised me, so it was usually her final say on what I did. However, my dad would exert authority if he was around and didn't like something I was doing. Also, my parents had a more traditional household where he worked and she did the housework and took care of me, and that was definately more my dad's doing. However, he was definately the more emotional of the two, and would often cry and talk about his problems with my mom while she comforted him.

Both my parents were kind of live and let live people. They didn't want me to date in Elementary school, obviously, but beyond that they didn't really care who I dated as long as I was safe and happy. I've just got my knowledge about dating from life experience and dealing with people on my own.

Like I mentioned above, my dad was usually gone doing his own thing, and as such we never really connected. He wasn't a dead beat dad or anything, but I never felt a strong parent-child bond with him like I do my mother. Probably because of this I'm much more similar in personality to my mom than I was to my dad.

Not really no, I'm not too big on having role models anyway. There are ways I want to take after both and ways I don't want to take after both.

I grew up in a traditional, strictly religious home. My father was the head of the household and my mother respected him in this tole.

My mother was sweet and loving. My father authoritarian but also a great dad. They loved each other very much, although my dad was not as demonstrative.

They definitely instilled in me "no sex before marriage" and took an interest in my dating life.

But, as a kid, I couldn't figure the "man as head" thing. It made no sense to me. It was the same situation at all of my friend's houses - the father was the head of the house.

By the time I reached my late teens, I desperately wanted my mother to have an equal say. To this day, I wished they'd had an equal relationship. I see absolutely no reason for it. I see their relationship as a relic of the past. I could never live that way.

My partner's parents are the same and they are also religious. He hates it that what his dad says goes also and wishes his mother would stand up for himself more.

Both of us love our dads but are closer to our mothers.

My mother taught me "Blue Pill" truths about love, compassion, and the virtues. She is a warming, caring presence in my life, and an amazing philanthropist with a giving heart. My father was a natural alpha and a powerful man. As I have explained before, he taught me about nearly all of the concepts we discuss here.

Very much. My parents taught me what to look for in a good and wise woman, and they were extremely involved in our lives after I chose her--from shared vacations and country club dinners to planning for our first house purchase to helping us budget and invest--she became a part of my family from the moment I asked her to be my girlfriend.

I love both deeply, but in different ways. My mother is the classic F-type woman. She is bubbly and a beaming spirit. Our relationship is based on that type of love--the one between a mother and her son. The love I have for my father developed out of respect. He taught me everything he knows, and he is a beacon of wisdom and mentorship in my life.

Would you say your father/mother is a role model?

Both are absolutely model people--the best a son could have. My parents routinely mentor young people that never had the opportunities and teachings I did, something I am trying to do as well.

My parents have pretty much always considered themselves a team., especially when it came to raising their children. Over the years they made sure that they always worked on their relationships. My mom sometimes had more say on financial matters, because she is better at budgeting than my dad.

My dad likes that I can be honest with him and as I have gotten older it has become easier to be honest, even when my life and relationship goals differ greatly from what he taught me and hoped for me.

Me and my dad keep it light and share similar tastes in music and movies. We can just chill on the couch and hangout watching shit and laughing for hours on end. We're both pretty goofy. He's the epitome of laid back. Growing up he was also the one who took us on biking trails and skating and whatnot. My mom did not enjoy activities like that lol.

My mom wants to talk it out. She's also the better planner, organizer, etc... So she would be the one who would offer career, education, dating advice... not my dad. I would say she's more FTO in general.

My parents didn't teach me anything at all about dating. My friends and myself were all nerds who didn't get dates. I had to figure out dating on my own when I was in college.

No, they almost never have. My mother once tried to set me up with someone, but she was the type of person that was suitable for her and not for me, so I found a way to avoid taking her out on a date. I think she just gave up after that.

They are divorced now, so not when it comes to relationships. But in other areas I think they are both good role models.

My parents divorced when I was young. I have no memories of them as a couple, but my dad left my mom for another woman so if there was a power balance I imagine it swung in his favour. She was a SAHM.

My mom took an active interest in my dating life (what little there was of it) and gave me some advice, most of it based around keeping myself safe/respected; the only advice I can remember my dad giving me was "you're a pretty girl, so you deserve a good-looking boyfriend". He was less involved in my life overall, but my mom had custody so that makes sense.

My relationship with my mother is supportive, caring and very close, but because of this I find myself getting irritated with her sometimes. She is intelligent, but also emotional, drama-prone and impossible to debate with. My relationship with my dad is more distant, but it's generally pretty positive...he is stilted with emotional stuff though and there's an awkwardness there combined with some shitty abandonment feelings on my part.

They are both role models in different ways, and both have told me I remind them of the other. My dad is ambitious, successful and gets stuff done. My mom is caring, passionate and personable. They are both hard-working people. In a lot of ways they embody masculine vs feminine stereotypes.
