TRP: What is the appeal of belonging to such an angry community?

It's the no. 1 community about being a man, leading a productive life and mastering sexual strategy. The actual benefits to my real life are great. Why wouldn't I go there?

I guess another way to phrase it is what brought you to TRP and what keeps you coming back?

The theory is sound but it's difficult to talk about these things outside the pillsphere.

I lean more on the descriptive side. Haven't had much need for the prescriptive side as I've almost always been successful at resolving systemic problems once I understood the system itself.

Is your eventual goal to be a happier person because of this community?

I'm happy already. It's actually a serious concern (or even fear) of mine that my current level of comfort will lead to torpor.

If so, how is this achieved in a forum that is filled with rage?

The way the empathy of women draws them to romance and depression, mine draws me towards rage.

I understand the ideas are what you consider realist, but taking a look through individual comments and posts, it doesn't look like self-satisfied and self-confident men.

Reddit is FULL of depressed people with low self-esteem. It's not trp-specific. Top ranking jokes are consistently self-deprecating. People are constantly trying to one-up each other on how pathetically they can present themselves. The most depressed 3 individuals I've seen in the pillsphere are a bper and two ppers.

The bitterness is palpable all over the place. What satisfaction do you derive from belonging to this community?

"Satisfaction" is irrelevant to what I believe. If I believe something to be true or mostly true, I can't just willingly disbelieve it just because it makes me feel bad. How do you even do that? People with that ability confuse me.

It's the same as any support group; everyone starts out broken. You help each other improve. Any one individual is unlikely to be the weakest link, so there will almost always be both people better off and worse off than you. You help those worse off and get help from those better off.

As for why I stay? On this account I subscribe to a few different subs. There's the TRP collection, but I also sub to /r/relationships and /r/sex. I browse through them on front. Sometimes I read them. It helps me remember why I use TRP. Despite the vitriol, the bitterness and the un-RP behaviour, it's a community that's trying to head in a certain direction. I'll take a beat up Corolla heading 10km/h towards where I wanna go over a Ferrari travelling 100km/h in the opposite direction.

For me, the anger and hatred is the fuel that leads to useful information. One guy gets to vent his anger and I get to learn from his experience and share my own.

It's not always anger and bitterness though. Sometimes it's informative and well written.

I prefer PPD to TRP though. Discussions from both sides can be interesting, although, The Blue Pill subreddit is a bit of a waste of time as it's so rare to see someone make a valid point there, on the whole it's mostly just flaming and sarcastic posts made by people who are offended by TRP.

I see much more bitterness and anger at the truth from your post than any other red pillers. Also the underlying emotional effects are irrelevant if the red pill is the truth. Your post is laced with logical fallacies that is common among blue pillers. Really just one long ad hominem attack.

I can easily say feminists are vitriolic and hateful, or many of them are. Many vocal ones are. Does that mean feminism as a whole is vitriolic? No. Same with TRP.

Since TRP deals with very personal emotional issues (self-worth, sexual value, loyalty, fidelity) unfortunately anger is a common part of the process for many. But that doesn't mean the tenants of TRP is angry, it only means that processing the tenants of TRP leads some to anger.

Because we understand and can relate to the anger, since we've had it at one point, or still have it.
Because it's one of the very few, if not only, places to discuss such issues that we as men face out in the open, unfiltered, and without judgement.
Because nobody else takes us seriously, they dismiss our problems, they give us advice that doesn't work, they tell us we're wrong and to just deal with it. TRP actually listens to us and validates our issues, then encourages us to overcome them and become who we want to be.
Because we want to help others who are where we were at long ago.
Most importantly: It produces actual concrete visible results.

Sure, TRP it isn't perfect, but it's the best community out there at the moment.

happiness is determined by how you live your life. If your being depressed/negatively affected by what people write on the internet I think it's time to spend more time living in the real world. I don't belong to the community because the red pill is a way to live life which doesn't require you to be part of it.

people who have 'successfully completed the program' probably arent in there much. I follow RP principles, read the texts, discuss it on PPD, but BPers spend more time in TRP than I do.

The anger comes from injustice in our society.

TRP isn't the only place it is found. TRP is just the place where you can channel that anger productively.

Anger is real, and it's honest.

It's not a politically correct pundit telling me how to feel about something. It's a real guy who's upset, primarily because he's been lied to continuously by every aspect of his society. And not good lies, either -- bad lies, lies that cause the guy to sacrifice his own happiness for the ungrateful.
