Lower sex drive =/= less attraction. There's more to attraction than just sex.

It seems if this is true, then it makes no sense for a man to get married at all, considering marriage means women monopolize a man's sexuality.

Married people, more often than not, stay together because of this thing called love. A wife's lowered libido isn't the end of the world for the husband, there's more to marriage than just banging ugly a every day.

The study found that a women's libido drops. It's not that she's not attracted to her husband. She's not attracted to any men. Her general interest in sex with any parties decreases.

This could be for any number of reasons, but I don't see how it supports any RP ideas. The problem doesn't seem to be a woman's attraction to husband. The problem seems to be a general disinterest in sexual activity.

First, you're assuming the only reason a man wants to interact with a woman is to stick his dick in her. If that's the case, then no, marriage probably isn't the best idea.

The quote you picked is someone looking for a possible explanation. It's not the explanation. Perhaps way back in the day women benefited from switching partners every four years. Maybe after four years it was a good idea to start cheating on your partner, making the paternity of any child uncertain, and securing the protection of other potential fathers for both the child and the woman. After four years, the man is bonded enough with the woman that less sex is needed, although the man desires it.

That's one way to look at it. Another way is that people who've been in a relationship for twenty years are liable to not being thirty, but more like in their forties, if not fifties already. Women go through a phase called "menopause" which can, among other things, cause a drastic drop in libido.

I don't think that has much to do with supply and demand. It's just human biology.

Listen, not all research is created equal. Some studies involve validated measures and protocols and NIMH funding. Other studies, such as this one, consist of an interview conducted at an unnamed department at Hamburg-Eppendorph University. And the only person they could get to comment on the article is an evolutionary psychologist. So...hmm.

Have you considered that men drop other parts of the relationship after 4 years instead of sex? Maybe dead bedroom means dead romance?

I mean, without looking at relationships as an ecosystem that involves two people and dozens of aspects I wouldn't put much stock into "marriage sucks for men and only men because women stop putting out"

The fuck?! You marry for sex? Worst reason to marry ever. No wonder you are 80% RP if you think the biggest "utility" of a wife is to be a penis hole. Why would you ever marry for sex? You can get sex easier without it.

Sex was totally not one of my major motives for marrying and I am not upset now that since she got pregnant and later after the birth she was never in the mood, going 1 year without it now. I am a proud FATHER now, not a stud.
