IMO average women absolutely have it easier then average men

An average woman is very datable and wanted. People want her around and she doesn't really have to change herself much to get relationships. I always find it strange when women say "men are loved for who they are instead of just their bodies" and it blows my mind, because men constantly have to change and improve themselves just to get any love or attention at all.

An average man is pretty much worthless and expendable. If he does not prove himself in some way or make himself seem special, he is basically worthless. The constant feeling that you are not loved for who you are and must prove more, that is what makes it harder for men IMO. They are not intrinsically wanted or desired.

In terms of being social, in my experience, especially at college, people always wanted more women around. Like if you are female you could tag along with most groups going out because you're a woman, and everywhere wants more women. So it seems much easier for them to have a social life because there is no "cost" for taking you along. On the other hand, nobody really wants MORE men around, men are surplus. It's harder for men to just latch onto a group and this has a big effect on social life. When I was in college it seemed like almost every woman could easily go out on the weekends, but tons and tons of dudes were lonely and had no one to really go out with

Is this small? May seem like it but trying to develop social circles as a man often feels like an uphill battle where you have to prove you basically deserve to be anywhere. You are not really WANTED around, merely just tolerated.

Born male. I think there are positives and negatives to both, but women are more free in Western societies to be themselves than are men.

I never understood these weird gender dysphoric questions. I NEVER compare myself to a man, a male or his physical make-up because I am not a man. Why would I give a shit about how "easier or harder" it is to be a man? I don't have this urge to be envious of the opposite gender in the first place.

I don't think its "harder to be a woman" just because I give birth or whatever. That is my natural female functions. It is not a defect or a competition. Why would I compare my womanhood experiences to a man with a penis. I would probably instead say its HARDER being a woman with fertility issues or it's harder being that OTHER woman, not "it's harder being a female because I don't have a penis." Woop dee' doo, men are stronger, can wear pants, pee in the woods.. Oh, look at those men not having to wear panties and stuff.. wtf shit like this doesn't even cross my mind on a regular basis.

There's no social, biological, or whatever that would make me say it's "harder or easier" to be a woman. I don't want to be a man or live life as a man. I am a woman.

Well from a physiological standpoint...

I am stronger
I don’t bleed every month
I’m at a lower risk of catching infections or pH imbalance in my genitals
If I wanted children I can cum and skip out on all the pain and horrific bodily changes
apart from more longer hair, balls and other bits sagging, my body will go through less significant changes as I get older
something to do with spatial awareness? I appreciate that
being more prone to cry is a disadvantage, glad I don’t have that

On a social aspect... * (if I wasn’t black), I can be described as ‘abrupt’ or ‘blunt’ but never forever labelled a ‘bitch’ for not stroking some idiots ego * I get more leniency for missing a social cue here and there * when being served food, I always get the larger pieces * Few formal attire options make it really easy to look good (tho that can be a negative) * Most other men don’t try on their appearance so it’s really easy for me to stand out * (if I wasn’t black), there’s less expectation for me to care how I dress/present myself on a day-to-day basis * Less social pressure to have kids * No queuing at the mens room... in, piss and out * I’m heterosexual, so very glad I don’t gotta ever take a dick inside me * In dating, status quo means I can approach any woman I want to that freedom in choosing is way better than standing and waiting to see who shows up. * Strange Men are less likely to approach me outta nowhere * I’m less likely to get raped by other men

TL;DR: from the physiological stuff alone I think it’s way better. I find men that think otherwise are too concerned and too controlled by what they assume other people will think of them. They also too self-centred to realise that it’s not that everyone else doesn’t have it better, it’s that they are simply hiding their mental struggles just like they are.

I am a guy, I love women, and enjoy sex very much.

And my mind is too rational to contemplate impossibly hypothesis like "what if I were born a woman".

Up until I joined reddit - I always thought it was better to be a man. Now being a man looks abysmal.

I spoke to my best male friend about this and he said his only problem was that men don't talk about their feelings enough and he would like to do that more. His best childhood friend recently hung himself and left behind five children (one of the kids was a 5yo). My friend thinks it was due to having pent up depression, anger and anxiety that he couldn't express.

I believe its easier to be a woman, but better to be a man. Men die earlier and are cared about far less, they have to work far harder to obtain sex and affection. But men are capable of achieving far more and it's just better to have a strong body that doesn't bleed and leak. Also I'd hate to have a female brain

Hormones are a bitch. I see women crying, cramping randomly and bleeding messily and think “thank god it aint me”

Also pregnancy and nursing seem to take a toll on the body/mind.

Also I think having a male sex drive makes life fun. Ole reliable. I can jerk off to de-stress every single day and it never gets old.

Also, I think men tend to be a little smarter than women and I enjoy being smart.

In the West, women definitely have it easier. Ironically, it is because we are constantly told that women had it soooo hard. So society has to help women while also restricting men. Not enough women working highly paid jobs? Crap, better make sure that they get some help. Also, we gotta make sure we reduce the number of men who can do that because clearly that is a bad thing. Men are struggling? Let's point and laugh about them being weak men!

I grew up in a very religious household and within that specific culture I would choose to be a man for purely practical reasons - like having more freedom/autonomy and being more appreciated/liked by my parents

As for the dating world, I’m brown so being a brown guy would be worse than being a brown girl because I’d have to compete with white guys who get everything. So I guess just based on that, I’d prefer to be a brown girl

Why? What do you mean "why"? How is it not? I'm taller, stronger, pee standing up, why would I want to be biologically inferior to what I currently am?

There's no 'reasoning', it just is. How are women better? I haven't seen any examples where they're biologically "better" than me. I guess they can have children but I fail to see how that's better, I have zero interest in that. I'm not entirely sure why they want to do that anyway.

If women's lives are easier I haven't seen a lot of examples of it. Most seem to be on mood altering pills and miserable about everything, prone to drinking and drugs, and broke as hell.

So whatever they're doing, I don't want any part of that.

My life is close to being a living God. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

I'm 100% OK in saying that I think that--integrated over all of life in general--I think I have it "easier" as a man. I get respect purely by dint of my gender from other men, including those with power. I don't have to worry about bearing children or all of the non-trivial bodily consequences of that. I generally do not fear others.

Women do have extraordinary advantages relative to me in the SMP. But, they are generally consigned to optimizing much different dimensions of that SMP than I am. In fact, their absolute ideal is much harder to achieve: commitment from a man they actually find attractive. I just want to have sex with attractive women. They lie--consistently and in myriad ways--to achieve their optimum. That would also tire me out...

Point-for-point in terms of men and women on the totem pole, absolutely. But a bottom 10% man will have it harder than an average woman (and vice versa).

What's your reasoning?

A man with the same set of privileges as a woman (education, upbringing, opportunities at status) will just get farther with them, that simple. In many high earning professions he'll be taken more seriously in society and likely paid more. At the other end of the spectrum, women down on their luck commit suicide at comparable rates to men in those sectors. It doesn't suddenly get sunnier as a woman the deeper into the valley you go.
