TL;DR Getting validation is a drug and I got a random taste. I got hit on by a woman who spit out, rapid fire, the clearly noticeable things I have been working on. It caught me so off guard I was in the parking lot before I realized how awesome average looking and better looking women have it.

Body

I got a glimpse inside a woman's mind in a very interesting way. I tasted their drug of choice. Here is what happened:

I walked to the bank by work about 3 PM yesterday. I'm standing in line thinking about work, cashing a check, normal stuff.

That said a very well dressed woman, early 50's late 40's, stylish hair, clothes, nails, jewelry etc. walked past me to get in line. I'm late 30's. 100% normal until she says: "Well don't you look dapper." I look at her to see if she's being a dick because no one compliments men ever. She then flashes a mischievous grin. I reply "Umm, it's the boots, you gotta have a nice polish." -I'm wearing a cool pair of boots with a killer polish on them.

Why such an idiotic line? - Because I never get blatantly picked up with day game, I'm the guy, so I have to chase. I'm on the wrong end of this game.

She then peppers me with compliments:

"Oh no it's not just that you got a real look going."

Yes, I had a dark athletic fitted t-shirt with a loosely triangular logo shoulder to shoulder, accentuating my shoulder width and accentuating my form.

"You got the hair, the beard, the glasses, the 'look'."

Yes, I get my hair professionally cut. Yes, I have nice beard that is trimmed and I use beard oil. Yes, I wear clean stylish clothes, and my jeans are a good fit and filled out because I got into weight lifting after my brush with divorce in 2012.

"You look like you lift too, don't you?"

I respond I do, she pipes right back, "Oh I can see your 'lifejacket there.' while pointing at my chest and arms.

"Oh, I'm not flirting with you, I just noticed you looked good."

Another mischievous wink. Of course you'd say you weren't when you blatantly are, it's part of the flirting game you're running, lady. I'm able to choke out "Well miss, flattery will get you everywhere." Her response: "How about a million in my account." I chuckle saying that I don't have quite that. She kicks right back; "Oh you look like you do."

This whole exchange took place over 90 seconds. At the point there was an available teller. She saw this transpire to a degree and she was extra flirty with me, playing a little game of keep away with the $20 I was getting back and being chatty. She saw my SMV get pumped up, and responded accordingly. I was in demand.

Lessons Learned

I walked out of the bank, no shit, on Cloud 9. I never had anyone run such a detailed pick up flirting game on me. Stone sober, middle of the day this happened. It was so rapid fire and well done I was a deer in headlights for the first third, I believe I blushed. The teller saw me getting validation and then gave me a little more, because I clearly was given the pass and she was going with the group think.

Women get this daily. Let that sink in daily. Men never get compliments out of the blue from strangers. Think about it, we are silent and expected to provide stoically. I know I look good, I eat well, work out 5+ times a week (5/3/1 plan, it is great), I'm successful, tall, I dress in a style that suits me, and I am usually unflappable. I'm probably a strong 8/10 of guys in my age, higher end of the bell curve, but nothing special in the least.

Here is another point: I was not interested in this woman. She was possible 15 years older than me and I saw a wedding band. Not my thing, especially this close to work; I don't shit where I eat, also I have a girl. Now if a woman gets hit on by guy who's put together, has his conversation skills down, but she is not interested (short, balding, wrong color shirt etc.)...fuck, queue the "Creeper hit on me rape culture train."

Validation is a drug and women only want to be seen enjoying the stylish drugs. They get so much of it they can humble brag about getting so much of it from "creepers" or low value guys who dare to punch above their weight.
