I love my cat. She's the sweetest, bitiest, fattest little furball in the whole world. I've got to get her on a diet though. I've taken to calling her Big Chungus.

Cats aren't known for their personality and cuddliness, but both cats I've owned have been remarkably sweet and cuddly. They make for great, low maintenance companions.

If you have one cat then get another one, especially if your cat always stays inside. They will be more happy to have another cat to keep them company, when you are away at work... Then they will both wait to greet you when you come home :-)

Pets are awesome. My dogs have been my best friends in life, and they've offered me a quality and depth of love and companionship far and above anything I've experienced with a woman. I think they are not just a "substitute" but a superior replacement.

They're affectionate, loyal, submissive, attentive, kind, funny, loving, intelligent, soulful, caring, supportive ... everything you'd want in a good wife, minus all the yapping, spending, and complaining.

I've rescued four cats. One was an ally cat, one abandoned, one a stray (owner died), one feral (turned into a lap cat). They are well behaved. Pet insurance is cheap (highly recommended). I vacuum...a lot.

Cheaper than therapy.

My neighborhood had a all black cat that I really don't think belonged to anyone. Whenever I would arrive at my house and park, I'd see him "galloping" like some injured lion to my house. He'd rub against my shoe and pant leg for a while and then we'd part ways. The few times he stuck around I'd give him some food outside on a paper plate.
One day I came home and he had decided to lay down and die on my doorstep. :( I put him in a box and drove him to the top of a mountain pass near my home and buried him there.

I had some stupid girl over once and she runs up to my cat and tries petting him and being all stupid cutesy-like, anyway he clawed her face right down the middle and then hopped away and she started crying lol. He's dead now but he was the best friend ever.

I have taken in a few strays, a male who doesn't come in much anymore and a female who is a pain in the ass. But I did teach her to open and close the bedroom door if I don't close it all the way. And I feed 4 or 5 others from a neighbor that passed away. I would like a dog, but I don't have the time needed to commit to a dog... some day.

Cats are the best pets. They are independent and don't do what you tell em but once they love you the affection towards you is real but they only show this affection when they feel like it.

Also they are a great judge of character. I always had cats since i was a toddler. All people who turned out to be assholes later on in my life, the cats spotted them instantly. Either avoiding them or straight up hiss at them from the start.

If you can't trust your gut feeling trust your cat.

Cats make the best pets and life long friends. My old cat constantly brought me gifts (including a live magpie once). When I brought home a girl one day, she was extremely disturbed and wouldn't let me touch her for 2 days after the girl left.
