I'm in my 40s and single. Love it. What I think this woman fails to understand is our needs are few. A social environment is important but even the most remote island of a man has legions of social environments in the internet.

Beyond that I don't need to remodel my kitchen. I don't need to drop 20 grand on a wedding. I don't need phone books of photos and scores of picture frames. I don't need even half the things a woman needs to be complete. And so I argue that she's projecting her own disinterest in the pub life onto men.

It's something I've said before. Women externalize the pursuit of resources to build their nest. The going down to the pub is simply to secure a resource. Beyond that she's not even remotely interested in doing it. So she looks at us and finds it depressing when it's what we look forward to. Why? Because men externalize the need for appreciation and love.

It's biological and important to point out.
