So, my buddy, a fellow redpiller hits me up telling me he just got asked by his girlfriend if he knows about the horrendously misogynistic, and sexist blog called TRP. "How could these self-loathing, women-shaming losers be such pigs?"; she yelled furiously. Now, just like you rightnow, I thought to myself, "how the hell did she land on these holy grounds?" Well, it turned out she was led here by the band Maroon 5, as a result of the huge public outcry regarding the title of their new album.

Like many popular celebrity figures, Maroon 5 tried to tap on the buzzing and steady-growing coverage of TRP on mainstream media to foster album sales. They did this by entitling their current album "Redpill Blues." To their greatest dismay, a massive backlash of rage ensued from the press, who immediately associated them with the manosphere. In an attempt to control damage, the group strongly disavowed any links to the actual TRP. They stated they weren't privy about TRP prior to naming their album, and that TRP had no influence whatsoever on their album title. They even took a step further in their quest to manage reputational risks to announce they are ardent feminists.

Well fellas, we've seen this happen again and again; media, celebs etc., expressing utter disgust for TRP after a failed attempt to use the controversial popularity of this platform to foster their own commercial motives. Here is a link to the piece by the Huffington Post on Maroon 5 and TRP.
