There are a sizeable number of exceptions to this, but the OP's approach is the safe bet. A lot of models have low self esteem and a bad body image. Some don't understand what all the fuss is about.

The other phenomenon is more with young girls who had an "awkward" phase as a teenager but then slimmed out and their acne cleared up. Occasionally you get a borderline hambeast who slims out and has no idea how to handle all the male attention she is getting.

I chased one of these shy introverted girls (A.) for YEARS; she knew I liked her "that way" but ignored it. Being pathetic, I pursued, hung out, took her to concerts, movies, even did our first mushroom trips and skydives together. But none were "dates", she didn't doll herself up for me, no physicality beyond the FriendHug, etc. I didn't even try to kiss her for 3 years and when I did she freaked out but still wanted my company and cool things to do. Meantime, I would see her out on Dates looking hot....yeah, bad. Every few months I would get fed up and go radio silent, not call etc. WITHOUT FAIL she would get hold of me a few weeks later and reel me back in for more, and I fell for it every time. This went on for 7 years......

Kicker -- I got denied passively and aggressively BUT....

Her sister and roommate were talking with me one day while we were waiting for her, and they were under the impression that we WERE dating, that A. talked about me all the time in such great ways, etc.

Years later I now realize either they were having a little mean girl fun with me, or A. really was insane and fed them some insanity as well. Prolly the former.

I met women with social anxiety on scale similar to what I had as a teen (between moderate and severe) and known a few ugly ducklings in school who turned into out and out sluts in their 20's. AWALT. The ones with social anxiety are still women, the moment they put up a dating profile they get a message a minute for a few days from all the men pouncing on them. Unlike a male with social anxiety if a woman wants sex she can get easily without 'chasing', it comes to her a knocking and she can pick from the candidate roster whichever willing guy is the best looking then go down the list. Yes this is how all women date on POF and OKC etc. but it's more mechanical for women with SA, they do not want the interaction side of the ordeal but them being women they like the same feelz and tinglez of being chased and validated all the same. I think this is mostly true, but there are definitely some exceptions. Like for example, girls who have really bad social skills or girls who are a little autistic might be shy because they don't know how to properly interact with others socially.

I think this is a good example of what your talking about. In this video she is using her shyness to get pity and sympathy from the audiance. No one who is as shy as she is pretending to be is going to be able to do that well on stage. This is so true, This type attracts a lot of beta's who think she's untouched treasure. I had a thing with a girl like this, sweet, soft spoken, shy type but she's actually the horniest girl I've ever met, you would've never guessed looking from the outside.

From a male perspective, as an introvert we tend to observe the behaviors and feel out the vibes of other people to see if it's worth the effort or time to interact in general.

Many people make for terrible association so it's may have nothing to do with shyness as much as active discernment of a person's worth through their character. It's not an act as much as an instinctual social defense mechanic. Probably much more so for women who constantly vet for suitable suitors.

Attractive is pretty subjective, although I get what you mean.

I have had ugly girls with a loud mouthed prole personality put on a shy and submissive act before, however there are also those ugly betty types of medium attractiveness that can be cute and shy.

That doesn't mean however they somehow don't want to bang with chad or don't spout feminist stuff like "girls are better than boys" on social media even though they mooch off daddy and would never be able to hold their own in the world without daddy and the paternal society that provides them with roles in large corporations.

What about late bloomers? There are a lot of women that haven't been attractive for most of their lives, and have only recently started getting more attention.
