The Long Walk, was incredibly inspiring book to me. It's the real story of these guys who went through an harrowing ordeal to escape the Soviet gulags. After surviving torture and drugging, then getting run through a kangaroo court, followed by a deadly train journey/ death march, they snuck out in a blizzard then walked from north of Lake Baikal, through the Gobi desert, through the Himalayas, all the way to British India (although a few of them die on the way). They even see the abominable snowman in the Himalayas.

I find true stories of amazing men inspire me. It reminds me, if these men could survive what they went through, I know I can survive a lot more than I've been hit with in my life.
