I've found that it is usually one of 2 reasons that they send porn.

Like others have said, to test your boundaries. They know you'll be shocked when you see it, they want to see If they can be disrespectful to you and you'll put up with it. If you do, it's a green light for them to escalate.
Because they get horny and want to sleep with the nearest woman when they watch porn, they think by making you see some that it will have the same effect on you, and they can be the readily available guy.

I wish I was joking - I asked one of my male friends why he sends dick pics even though girls hate it (this was pre-FDS I'm ofc no longer friends with him). He explained that pictures of vaginas get him horny and he wants one then and there, so he was hoping that by sending his dick that the girl will get horny looking at it and want his dick.
