I would say not to categorize everything. It was a nice gesture that doesn’t have to have a particular meaning. You thanked him and that was enough. It’s not like he laid the Crown Jewels at your feet.

My abusive LV ex offered me his password and I ended up giving him one of mine. After we broke up he waited a year later to kick me off a half hour before the final episode, final season of a big show even though he still had my streaming service. Our mutual friends admitted he'd been planning it for a year and were shocked he actually went through with it and that he denied it being done on purpose.

So, no, this shit doesn't mean HV.

It's not either really, just a kind thing to do. There's nothing wrong with accepting; a queen accepts gifts that please her (that don't come with expectations attached, but if they do, that's a sign of LV). A simple thanks is enough.

Usually you can share with three or four people, not a big deal. It's kind, but worth a "thank you" not a "wow HVM". It doesn't cost him to share, and he gets to share it for the same cost as what he's already paying.

My elderly neighbor whose last name I don't even know has access to mine. He's not American and old so I thought letting him use my Netflix and showing him how it worked would be a nice thing to do. I got voted off the family account so having one account just for one person seemed like a waste.

So ask yourself, is something that people give to friends and neighbors all the time if they have room for an extra person really that huge of a gift? Spoiler alert, it's not.

(For those thinking "what the hell do you mean you got VOTED OFF THE FAMILY ACCOUNT?" My immediate family had an account we were stretching waaaaaay thin with too many people and it was always a situation where my parents wouldn't be able to access it, despite being the ones paying the bill. During one very tipsy night during Christmas vacation, decisions had to be made and I apparently did not argue my case well. I accepted my defeat and moved on.)

Um...not effusive at all. lol! It’s a thoughtful and kind thing to do, but it doesn’t cost him anything. So I’d say it’s on par to receiving a greeting card. A simple thanks is sufficient.
