This is why I’m constantly single. If I can’t find someone I actually want to date, I’m just not going to date anyone. Better alone and happy than stuck with some twatwaffle just to have a dick snoring in bed next to me every night. People’s response when I tell them is that I need to settle, no thank you. This sub was such validation for me that I’m not the one who needs to adjust my reality.

Omg samesies.. my therapist said if you don't want to be in a relationship you don't have to 💕💯

😂 “twatwaffle” “just to have a dick snoring in bed next to me” omg this made my morning, you have a way with words.
Me too, I’ve allowed too much shit in my life at the hands of men and I’m done. I’d rather be single, and never settle for anyone who doesn’t deserve me and who I don’t really even like. This sub has given me life.

Same. I wasn’t even looking anymore and I found my SO. Honestly wouldn’t even bother actively looking and just focus on yourself.

I’m the same way, sis. This is the difference between men and women! Men will date just about any pickmeisha until they dump her for the girl of their dreams if she shows up and he has enough to support her.

I was in a good relationship gone bad and wasn't happy. Being single was less painful.

Yes, I remember all my drama was from being in a relationship I didn't want to be in just to feel like I was normal and it was more torture than just being single.

Being alone is underestimated, people will feel sorry for you because you’re alone and it looks sad For them, but let them think whatever they want. You know how it makes you feel and it’s all matter

I walk past various dysfunctional codependent couples a day with their usual repetitive nonsense & thank the heavens I focused on watering my own roots first. Guarentee a few will be at each others throats during self isolation lol. I think people who are incapable of ever being single are just admitting they’re weak & needy lol. Like they’d honestly rather force some dead end relationship with a rando they have no real chemistry with than be single for a while. I think that looks desperate tbh - but people in dysfunctional relationships love to look down on the sensible singles with standards 😳 what a sin to realise you don’t need to be in a relationship 24/7 for the sake of it!

Totally agree! I look at my pickme friends (and yes, I’m a recovering pick me so am in no way perfect, and recently had a meltdown about my ex) but it doesn’t change the fact I would never go back to him, and that I’m staying single. My friends though, cannot be single. They are sooo desperate and shacking up with the worst men!
Another point I find is when you’re a single woman, your desperate coupled up friends, who are not so secure in their relationship (probably because the guy is a disrespectful sleaze), slowly pull away from you. I think they feel threatened by your singleness and that you’re going to suddenly steal their man.

People usually only feel sorry for you for a minute, too, before they realize all the great stuff you’re up to, and how you’re the only one who isn’t bitching about her relationships. ;)

This is so important. Sometimes I think about dating again but honestly me and my dog and my cats and my guinea pigs are happier than I’ve ever been in my life. I have almost no interest in men anymore.

Ugh, I want a cat someday :(

This is why I date myself. It's very hard to top what I provide for myself when I'm all I need. Another person is just supposed to be an enhancement in my quality of life of what I csnt provide for myself.

I wish I’d known this sooner. In a way I did - I remember being a kid telling my parents that I didn’t want to ever get married, I wanted to live alone in the woods with my dog. Now a couple decades later I’ve come back around to the idea, after wasting so much time, money, and wasted opportunities, on men who took me for granted. I wish I had spent that time better. Now, after everything it’s costing me to build a happy, peaceful life on my own, I’ve had a huge shift in priorities.

Going on two years single, and loving it. After awhile you don't even think about it.
This is so true. I can’t wait to get to that point again. Longest I was single was 18 months, and man, I had the time of my life. I remember saying to everyone how I was the happiest I had ever been, and I truly was. I pursued so many goals, socialised all the time, had a great workout routine, no one to answer to, slept when I wanted and didn’t when I didn’t want to, time to look for better jobs, had more money believe it or not.

Starving men out of my life was the best decision I ever made. I do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for men if I can help it. I go out of my way for other women. Imagine if we all did this.

THIS right here! About starving! I live by "Don't feed what doesn't feed you!" whether friends, family, workplace etc!

based and pinkpilled.
i've been single all my life, and it's actually not that bad compared to some of the stories i've seen on r/relationship_advice and r/sex .
[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I'm on r/sex a lot because I'm a horndog. It's such a fucking shambles 😂😒
