I (23f) am breaking up with my live in bf (27m) of 5 years. I won't go into specifics but sto summarize he is a controlling coward, alcoholic, non commital man who will probably string me on as a forever gf by keeping me from financially and educationally flourishing. Worst is he pretends he's this amazing neutral man. But really he's just too afraid to stand up for himself and for me.

I really hate him. And everything his family put me through.

Luckily I have no kids with him, and my younger brother lives with us.

I need to know what the safest way to break up with him is. (he knows MMA jiu jitsu and has gotten pretty violent with things around him when mad or drunk). We are both on the lease right now.

Do I take him for coffee? Or sit him down in our home? Do I explain why it's over? Or just end it? I don't think he'd really care what I have to say anyways. (he's like the rest of his family, they're huge on plausible deniability, and never taking responsibility for their actions). I'm even debating doing it over the phone when he finishes work one day and just dropping his things off at his moms.

I want to be physically safe, I don't want property destruction. But he is on the lease so I can't just ban him. Please help FDS ladies 🙏
