Do you expect more than sex from me?- is what it means coming from a man. If you say you want to date or looking for an LTR he may just take that info and manipulate accordingly.

I personally hate this question. And any other nosy ass questions that I wouldn't tell a stranger. The best thing is to reply with I don't know and then ask them what they want. I had one actually tell me he was looking for marriage and future children. Usually they want just sex. I went on a few dates with him even though I had already told him I don't want another marriage or another kid. He started out strong and then faded. So even when you get an answer that isn't "I want something casual" you can't necessarily trust it.

Give them a vague answer so they can't just mirror whatever you say, then throw the question back to them. This is usually when a LVM reveals himself on OLD early on.

My profile says: "Looking to date and get to know each other to find someone special that I want to be in a relationship with."

This is to make a few points clear:

I expect dates.
Getting to know each other is the point of the dates, not sex.
My end goal is a relationship.
But.... I'm not so desperate to have a relationship that I'll take any man who agrees.

But more importantly, my behavior and engagement is consistent with these values.

If you're on a dating app then I think that's a normal starter question so no one's time is wasted if someone is looking for something serious and the other isn't.
