I've been browsing here for a little while and I'm noticing a lot of things that are confusing. I am really happy to see women advocating that other women not allow themselves to be treated poorly or taken advantage of. I'm all for knowing your value, however you evaluate it and sometimes that comes in the form of paying for dates, gifts, etc. But the one thing I never ever hear any of you talking about is forming a genuine connection with another person on an emotional and physical level. I never hear anyone talking about what the strategies for making sure that you're fostering a positive environment that's mutually beneficial. I never hear about what kind of reciprocation is deemed appropriate. If it's not splitting the bill on occasion or being the first one to call/text to let the other person know that you care about them then what is it? What are we offering to a relationship that makes us worthy of, let alone demanding of, a commitment of time and money?

If you have a genuine connection with a person and you love and support each other, you're not going to be concerned about who paid for the 6th date. So why get so caught up on it?
