I've said it before, I'll say it again. As soon as my 11 month old daughter is old enough I'm finding a good martial arts studio for her.

I want her to learn run if you can run, only fight if you have to. But if she has to I want her to be good enough to "win" (you don't win, but you escape being assaulted).

I think self defense should be mandatory for all women. It teaches respect, discipline and is good exercise but really I just want her to be able to protect herself.

And I've also already started talking to her about not being "nice" and (unfortunately) already had to demonstrate how to be loud when someone is aggressively approaching you (and doesn't take "no" for an answer).
