For me its kind of like wading through a swamp. I went out for a while (1 month) with a guy who was still married. He told me after the third date. Had another guy tell me it wouldn't work because I "wasn't experienced enough." The really hurtful one was the guy I thought really liked me but broke up after 3 months because he didnt want to cuddle me.

I did meet up with a guy I went to high school with, we hooked up. The sex was good but now I know hookups aren't my thing. He's a decent guy though.

The weirdest one was the guy who told me he had a psyc degree through text then in person told me he has a engineering degree. Buddy forgot his lie. Oops.

All of this before FDS....and in the space of one year. I hadn't dated prior. 2019 was wild for me.

Most of the men you will find on OLD are not qualified to date/approach any woman at all. A bunch have lifestyles or beliefs that immediately disqualify them.

Of the few left, most will tell you outright if they aren’t looking for anything serious. Others are not subtle at all and say sexual things right away, often it will be something they can plausibly deny was sexual. I’m here looking for friends, no drama, friends first and we can see what happens from there, I’m open to anything from a hookup to a FWB to a relationship, or makes any mention of sex (including his username) are all way of him telling you he doesn’t have a problem having sex with someone with whom he cares nothing about. Don’t be afraid to ask direct questions about their intentions.

If you have been FDS for a while, you should be able to pick up on the subtle ways that men reveal their true intentions. It always a risk to meet someone, but mostly you are just risking wasting your time. I definitely think it’s worth it to have a go at it to practice FDS techniques and go on some dates.

I was dating a guy I met on Tinder until earlier this week when we called it off. He misled me by lovebombing (showing too much interest, introducing me to friends and family, saying the "right" things, etc). He knew I am demisexual/don't do hookups and still decided to chase despite not wanting a relationship. At least it helped me realize the importance of sticking to FDS principles and not compromising.

I've never been misled. I was solicited for sex a ton, and on dates told "I don't want anything serious" and I pretty much just smiled and walked away. I was pretty lucky with OLD, I don't have horror stories from that. My horror stories are from the guys I met IRL.

Almost every man I've met through online dating is just looking to get laid. I really wish the tables weren't so skewed. I wish women could embrace their sexuality and just run through men like they run through women, without feeling used, but the fact remains we hardly get any benefit out of that scenario. It's so much harder to find a decent match for a woman, even if you have every penis within a 3 mile radius coming at you, most men feel they don't have to put any real effort in, they've grown up believing they're entitled to sexually access women's bodies and that possessing multiple sexual conquests makes them Herculean manly men.

You'd think OLD is more favorable for women because we get so much more attention! Quite the opposite. If anything it just draws more assholes, and most of them aren't worth it. Appearance-wise: scraggly and unkempt, barely dressed well (-we women tend to put a generous amount of effort into our appearance, and if we are low-maintenance we still make sure we're put together!-), typically emotionally detached/feigning to get a woman to reciprocate his falsely expressed interest (-when he's just trying to get laid-), juggling several plates all of whom he's just trying to fuck. If he's dating multiple women he's just not that into you. It shouldn't take him more than a couple weeks of dating to go "Wow, I want to keep dating her exclusively", because if he's not chances are he's just trying to fuck multiple women.

I think I've only had dates w/ like 10 guys or so from OLD. 3 definitely just wanted to get laid. They didn't say it explicitly, but I also didn't ask about intentions upfront. I realized the asking to meet up fairly quickly into the convo was a common denominator, so I then avoided any guy who did that. But after 2 dates and no sex happening (I think they expected it on the 2nd) that was it. So I think most dudes who are looking for ONLY sex will not go beyond 2 or 3 dates. they can find someone "easier" or who's just looking for casual, back on the app

Don't go on tinder or hookup sites. Say flat out that you're only looking for a relationship and to settle down. The fuckboys will mostly filter themselves out. I met my husband on old but it took me 2 years of OLD. We're both introverts so there's just no way we'd have met in person.

Every guy I meet tells me he’s open to a relationship and they all ghost after sex. One ghosted me and then reached out months later.
