What's the math on that interest rate, lordy.
[β][deleted] 44 points45 points46 points 5 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link
$8000 purchase price, 0 down, 0 trade in value and 99% interest for 36 months gave me $700/mo from cars.com.
If she rolled in another $8k from a previous car loan, 0 down and 0 trade in for 36 months it would be $751/mo at 38% interest.

She'd be the perfect candidate for one of those infamous no-money-down subprime mortgage deals from the early aughts that contributed to the 2008 housing crash.
And by "perfect candidate," I of course mean idiot.
"I gots me a 3,000-square-foot house, and I ain't paid a penny!" lol

Who buys a car, that old, and still finances it? Christ.
[β][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Buy here, pay here dealers bread and butter. They make enough to make the payments but don't have the discipline to save up to buy cash. Low or no credit so more respectable dealers won't finance them, but if you charge higher than credit card interest and have a solid repo team and minimal ethics you can make it work.
[β]pat-eymsham0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I work in the auto industry, but at the new/one previous owner level. Exactly the same, sell on finance, at end of finance period there is a flat amount outstanding or you return the car. Oh? You have not saved up that payment? Well, I can offer you a nice new deal which covers that ..... once they are in, most of them are trapped.
If you really do need to borrow for a car, you really want to try to get a loan from bank. Avoid dealer finance like the plague.
[β]Bri-704 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Sounds right. Salesman convinced her she was "Upside Down" on the previous Kia and rolled into into the new loan at 38%.
[β]tilio5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
this. she's fucking retarded and can't handle money at all. takes every shitty deal that comes her way because SHINY... even when that SHINY is just turtle wax on a 10+ year old car.
my car "note" is $0. if you're paying interest on non-appreciating assets, you're garbage with finances.

That price for a Kia that old is a sham on its own.

imagine bragging about paying out the ass for interest on a shitty bottom tier car...
[β]Crazyclockwork27 points28 points29 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Assuming a 2 year loan for the car, 8000 would be approximately $333 a month before interest.
Let's work backwards.
50% interest would be 4000/year, which would be another 333. But we're still short about 100, so let's try 4500/12, or 56%
Nope, till short $50.
5000/year or 62.5% APR works out to just short of 750/mo.
Again, assuming 2 year repayment, which I think would be accurate for such a small loan amount.
Jesus christ, 62.5%
How in the fuck

This. I've actually seen plenty of grown adults who were absolutely confounded by the proper use of the decimal point. Seriously, they couldn't even use a calculator properly.

Probably carried a significant amount of debt to the new loan from her trade and interest rate is likely 40% at a bhph.

[β]Wrongdoer-Majestic1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She's wasting $750.00 a month, but lets be honest, someone else is likely paying for it. Meanwhile, those of us who avoid women and their constant spending could have bought that Sportage for cash.
[β]colomon9781 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Her credit is around 350. Don't brag about money if your credit is in the garbage.

I know right? Imagine if she paid 8k for a 13 year old car
[β]RemoteGuava0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I wouldn't be shocked. There was an image posted on 4chan where a woman bought a used Dodge Neon or similar for $3000, at an interest rate of 29%, and the picture of the car showed that its right front tire was a spare tire. The picture was from some used car dealer's twitter post where they said they got her into a new whip with no money down. I think the thread was about how many things are wrong with this picture.
[β]TheRiseAndFall1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
She's replying to someone whose name is "Bulls 2021 Champs". That post is fresh as fuck.

Bwaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaa!!!! Dumb twat! You don't brag about having a Kia, let alone a paying 8 grand for it when it is old and high mileage. 725 a month screams worse credit than what I have, poor money management, shitty loan broker, and insane interest. 200 a month says dude has great credit, low interest, a good loaning bank, and is money smart. I am just glad that I own my vehicle and bought it outright. It may be used and fairly high up on miles but; it is mine, it is nice, it works, and it has another 100-200k left on the engine. What is that dumb cunt's issue? Just because his payment is low doesn't mean he is broke! Dumb bitch. Does she want an award for paying so much for a piece of shit?
[β]itsokayimhandsome0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Lol what a stupid cunt. Cant really be flexing with a sub $1000/car payment. Now if it was $3k/month like on a $150k+ car than that fat hoe can flex.
