I've been looking deeper into IVF and AI (artificial insemination) and narrowing down which company I'm going to use.

I was browsing yesterday and a guy that I've known, but he has recently started pursuing me (I'm still on the watch to see red flags), I sent him a screen shot of a spelling mistake on one of the sites. He realized it was a sperm donor site and asked if I was looking. I answered yes and told him that he already knew this.

I talked to him on the phone later and asked if it bothered him. He said yes. I told him that I want to get pregnant in the next 5 years for sure and I want to have 4-6 kids, all which I have been open about for the past 8 years. He said a common response, "You'll meet someone." I told him I've met a lot of people, but we don't know the future and I'm planning on something on something I can do definitely, not something reliant on another person. He agreed and said he understood.

Just to give back ground, I've been in several long term relationships, never moved in with a man or done sex before marriage, but I have dated. One relationship 2 years, one relationship 4 years, another relationship 1.5 years, and another 1 year. Shortest relationship being a year. The 4 year one we dated 2 and were engaged for 2 years. I broke up with every guy due to various reasons.

As mentioned above, I've been thinking of doing this for the past 8 years and had an age limit set to do it when I'm 32. I've also plan to adopt as well as have biological kids. To me it'd be amazing to have a family like that and there's too many kids in the system. I'm actually in the process right now of getting my home study done for foster care. I'm 27 now and I'm thinking of doing it when I'm 30.

Whenever I have mentioned this to people, men or women, they always bring up "what if you meet someone", "there's someone out there for you", or something similar to that.

There's a lot of benefits with using a sperm donor, they're tested for STDs and genetic and I can pick attributes that I would like my children to have. I can also choose to have the children and donor's relationship contact open or closed.

If someone I was seeing ever had an issue with me fostering/adopting or doing IVF/AI. That's a red flag to me and doesn't align with my values.

Has anyone else thought of going down this route? Or any other thoughts?
