Not entirely. Something that really didn't kick into about the year 2000 was common access to the internet and things like online dating. It really did go off a cliff edge after that.
There was something to be said about times before that. Mostly to do with the fact that people would really only meet other people by physically meeting them in their own social circles. After the "options" expanded then we saw real problems.

The main thing all countries need to get rid to improve marriage rates is OBESITY! Less attractive women to go around. You look at old photos and even the less attractive women were attractive by today's standards since they were slim. Now it is 80% landwhales. It exasperates the problem because a slim modern woman who would be very average in old times is an automatic 8/10 just bu virtue of not being a fatass. And these otherwise average women think they are hot shit.

Obesity is not a problem nor an impediment to marriage in Japan.

Or in Malaysia.
Or in Sweden.
Or in....I'm sure you get the idea by now.
You seem to be looking at only where you live, see a problem, and extrapolate that to conclude that the problem you see is a problem all over the world. It is not. In the U.S., it is a problem. But really it is only a symptom.
The problems of obesity, bad attitudes, and a lack of regard for marriage as shown in low marriage rates and high divorce rates will persist until hardship returns to those countries that have grown soft and weak from the successes of previous generations.
It is amazing how much things change when people are forced to deal with things that are actually necessary. When there is no Daddy Government to provide everything or force compliance upon men, women will all of a sudden start valuing men who can put a roof over their heads and food on the table again. And they will start doing what is necessary to compete with the other women who need such men.
But that time of change won't happen until we all lose our comfortable standards of living.

Imagine thinking wasting your life making someone else money was something to be proud off. Everyone's motto should be work to live. Not the other way around. The fact cultures got conned into that type of life is sad. The corporations aren't complaining.

well the soul mate is a bit of myth pushed by whoever( hallmark channel/ hollyweird looking at you)

Women love the whole "soul mate" thing because they don't have to exert themselves or take responsibility.
If you'll "just know" when the right one comes along, you don't have to do anything. Encourage a steady stream of men to beat down your door. When the right one shows up, he'll make you magically tingle and you'll "just know".
When the tingle fades, or if you get pump-and-dumped, it's his fault for pretending to be your soul mate. Go back to step 1 and keep waiting for the magic tingle signal.
