Obligatory: found FDS 8 months ago when I was in the middle of the worst “non-relationship” NVM experience of my life that brought out my HIGH KEY pickmeisha behaviour.

It’s my birthday on Sunday. I’ve been alone since May.

And I realized....

this will be the first year in my adult life (I’ll be 28) where I won’t be desperately wishing/hoping/praying some LVM will remember my birthday (through social media hints, casual drops in conversation etc etc) and reach out to wish me a HBD. There’s no LVM around to take me for a subpar dinner, to give me a subpar card, and then take me to bed after as a “gift”. Or last year when the NVM I was “seeing” didn’t even reach out on his own to wish me a happy birthday...

There’s no text I’m waiting for from an ex or a current partner or someone I’m “seeing”. There’s no hope that this year I’ll be in a “better relationship” etc etc.

This year, there’s no one but me to care about. There’s no one but me to be happy for. There’s no one but me to love. This is the better relationship I’ve been looking for all along. I may be alone this year but I no longer feel lonely.

And I’m pretty f—king proud of that. Thankful every day for this sub!

🦋 Happy birthday to me! 🦋
