I hope this is in the correct place, this isn't a question about a specific situation (except that it is me in it), and I want feedback on the theory or philosophy.

Here is the thought background. I have moved away from monogamy, I can't see how it is healthy for most people, and specifically for me it makes me complacent and anti-social. I am relatively handsome so I do quite well on dating apps, to the point where I can have a steady supply.

However, I firmly believe that some kind of connection/intimacy/deeper knowing of the other is valuable not just for the sex being better, but for taking the chance to influence others and expand everyone's horizons. We meet relatively few people in our life in such an intimate way, that my thinking is we should try to assist one another if possible. I am open about seeing other people.

That said, I find it hard to gain the above intimacy in a non-monogamous situation, girls simply don't often allow themselves to feel the above when they don't feel secure that it is only the one guy, or they don't express it. This is the smaller issue.

The larger issue I am combating, for which I want feedback: I don't believe in monogamy, and yet with the intimacy I desire from girls I feel jealousy (sometimes quite intense) and possessiveness at the thoughts of them being with other men. This is unsustainable for me, so I seem to be stuck between a rock and a hard place. I meditate regular, and have been thinking a lot about the role of attachment. I don't see a useful reason for this jealousy, and yet exist it still does.

Any thoughts or fables much appreciated.
