It gets half of the idea of MGTOW right in emphasizing the importance of being your own person. However, when I go through the comments I see men who are putting themselves out there get chided for expressing themselves. Throughout most of history it was natural for men to get angry in response to being wronged and while I get that there can be too much hostility there ought to be a balance. Someone who thinks that you ought to be prepared for the worst shouldn't be derided for believing the worst could happen and believing that he should be able to provide for himself. Recognizing that no one else will look out for you doesn't make you a conspiracy theorist, it means you feel what men have always felt. Ultimately this sub tries to reconcile men going their own way with modernity instead of seeing how incompatible a traditional masculinity is with modern life.
