Ex wife agreed and signed court papers to have her maiden name reinstated. 6 years later she is still using my last name. Can I legally enforce her to not use my name?

Most judgments "allow" the name change but don't "order" the name change. Read it carefully - and even if you could force her to change it, you really gonna throw coin at that bullshit? Think of it as her tattoo'ing your name on her life instead

No, you cant. I could literally go down and change my last name to yours and there isnt shit you can do about it. You dont own the name and its legally her name.

She’s not using your name. She has the same last name. Lots of people share the same last name. I don’t understand how this would cause you harm. I think it’s time to move on with your life. You’ll be much happier.

My ex still has my last name. I treated her with kindness, respect and helped her achieve her dreams, and then she flushed it b/c she wanted something better. Now after 5 years, she still has my name and my legacy continues. Think of her as an adult child that's alienated from you. You can still take pride in what you are accomplishing through her... assuming she's actually trying to do better...

I am curious to see if my stbxw does this. She changed her name on her facebook profile the day after mediation. She has changed her name three times now (her 2nd divorce) so she should be pretty good at it.

Mine did the same almost 9 years ago. Still hasn’t done it. I couldn’t care less. If she ends up dying with it, I would find it hysterically funny.

What if it is stated in your divorce decree that he-she has to? I had that put into mine, was supposed to be within 6 months after divorce. It has been s year and a half, no change yet.
