That article read more like they want to lower required standards for women. In regards to physical fitness, it makes no sense that that is involved in a promotion unless for a combat role. But if it is for a combat role, you should either meet requirements for the sake of your fellow members or not do it at all.

I was bored so I looked up this test, these standards are hilariously low

140 pound dead lift

2 mile run in 21 minutes

4.5m (couldn't find a unit, but 4.5ft does seem unreasonably low) overhead, backwards 4.5kg medicine ball throw

10 hand release push ups, in 2 minutes

3 minute sprint drag carry

1 leg hanging tuck, in 2 minutes

I am not a thin chap. I hate running. I can do 4/6 of this test with no training. I'm almost disturbed 1 in 10 soldiers can fail it.

I just laughed my ass off reading that. Gender Neutral is for baby clothes. It is for socks & Ball caps. Things that work the same and achieve the same results no matter who uses it.

This is the same everywhere including police and fire services etc.

Companies are desperate to employ and promote more women for PC quotas so they either lower the standards for everyone or for women.

Fun fact- the UK used to have a min height limit for joining the police, this was scrapped to allow more woman and more Chinese to join. The fire service no longer requires employees to be able to lift someone over their shoulder, firefighters only need to be able to drag someone along the ground now so more women can join.

I know a woman who joined the fire service, she took 3 attempts to pass the fitness test (which had already been dumbed down to help women join). The rules state if you fail twice then you can't join but they let her try again because they were desperate to have more women in the service.

Feminists say things like "men aren't letting women join this service or that service because of sexism" but it's the other way round, for certain jobs employers are doing all they possibly can to have more women join but usually it's because women don't want to join or they are unable to meet the requirements.

I have days, nay, YEARS of stories of females not being able to hack it and still getting promoted because “equality”. My first experience with females in the military was at jump school at Ft Benning, back in ‘93, and I’ve had a bad taste in my mouth ever since. Trust me, the military WILL FIND A WAY to “pass” the females that can’t meet the standard.

I hate sexist people and I’m not trying to be one of them, but I really don’t visualize a woman being able to carry a downed soldier across a battle field or beating up a man in hand to hand combat. They lowered all standards for women yet they still struggle at these tests.
