I think she should go to jail for defamation.

And abuse.

[–]Lion_amongst_gods 389 points390 points391 points 6 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

And false accusation.

[–]elJefedcog 192 points193 points194 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

If only people would help to jail for ruining someone else's life on a consistent basis. That's equality.

[–]Lion_amongst_gods 40 points41 points42 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

False accusation of any crime should warrant the same punishment as the corresponding crime.

[–]Peter_Principle_ 19 points20 points21 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

At minimum.

Keep in mind that any false accusation of a crime that would warrant arrest is objectively at the very least an attempt to engage in armed kidnapping.

If force is actually used then it's at minimum aggravated assault.

If someone is killed, it's murder.

All these crimes come with firearm enhancements, if appropriate for that jurisdiction.

[–]Lion_amongst_gods 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

an attempt to engage in armed kidnapping.

Holy shit! You should be a lawyer. I've never thought of it this way.

[–]HNutz 33 points34 points35 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Works for me.

[–]Big_chonk 19 points20 points21 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Fuck did she do? She sounds like a cunt

[–]Randomstrangerguy123 70 points71 points72 points 6 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

She accused Johnny Depp of domestic abuse. He lost the role as captain Jack sparrow and almost Grindelwald and was smeared by the media. Depp proved the "bruises" on her head were make up. He also had evidence of HER abusing HIM instead. In the end she said it was to further her acting career. She suffered no backlash.

[–]AFuddyDuddy 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And battery.

And assault with a weapon.

[+]Dunkolunko -57 points-56 points-55 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

That's defamation.

[–]SharedRegime 46 points47 points48 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

No its not. Defamation is lying about ones character not a false accusation.

[+]Dunkolunko -13 points-12 points-11 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Ah ok so these are legally distinct? I thought it was just a catchall for lies about a person to damage their reputation.

[–]SharedRegime 26 points27 points28 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes. False accusation is another term used for Falsifying a police report because in reality it sounds way harsher.

Defamation is attacking someones character specifically with lies and slander.

[–]functionalghost 11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

One is a civil suit (defimation) the other is a criminal matter.

[–]Dunkolunko 11 points12 points13 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Thanks! I don't know why I was downvoted for explaining why I was admittedly mistaken :(

[–]Lion_amongst_gods 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Internet points don't matter mate. Your participation in the conversation is appreciated.

[–]Elligma 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Herd mentality.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's defamation when pointing out a crime this person committed?

[–]Lion_amongst_gods 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't give them ideas...

[–]TheGreatConst 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Eh, so she wasn't found guilty even after all the accusations and evidence? It is fucked up.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Defamation is a civil tort, not a criminal offence. Domestic Violence is a crime, she should be doing jail time for assault and battery etc.

[+]mcmur -62 points-61 points-60 points 6 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

How exactly do we know that she lied about any of this?

[–][deleted] 77 points78 points79 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Video footage from the security cameras in there house.

[–]biff64gc 53 points54 points55 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Depp counter sued and has video evidence. Also mass media suddenly stopped supporting her. They didn't switch to support him, they just stopped covering it.

[–]DANGERMAN50000 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Oops!"

[–]mcchanical 21 points22 points23 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because legal investigation found that to be the case?

[–]Lion_amongst_gods 313 points314 points315 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

If the studio still has her reprising her role, then go vocal, avoid the movie.

[–]Throwaway_Old_Guy 104 points105 points106 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That's the only thing the studio's will listen to.

[–]Ahielia 45 points46 points47 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Likely they will just complain about toxic masculinity that people (men) won't see it.

[–]dwightschrutesanus 33 points34 points35 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I'm avoiding the movie on the basis that the first one was fucking trash.

[–]Lion_amongst_gods 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is the best kind of judgement. Based on the past actions of oneself rather than the quality of the group one belongs to.

[–]dwightschrutesanus -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah no. I don't play the cancel culture bullshit game.

I don't work in the industry.

I don't have a personal relationship with anyone in the industry.

I don't have Johhny Depp kinds of money.

If Johnny Depp wants to make a statement, he has the influence and the money to do so. That's his choice.

[–]ghetterking 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

or pirate it, lolth

[–]Daamus 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

it was pretty easy to do with the first one too, should be easier to avoid this one

[–]shayan1232001 166 points167 points168 points 6 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

Johnny lost his role as Captain Jack Sparrow because of the lies and smear campaign launched by his ex wife Amber Heard and almost lost the role of Grindewald in Fantastic Beast 2: Crimes if Grindewald.

Amber Heard has gone on to star in Aquaman which grossed over billion dollars, an endorsement deal with L’Oreal and has become an ambassador for the UN and has not suffered any of the backlash that Johnny has despite the truth coming out that she was the abuser in that 15 month marriage and she was the one using the Me too movement for her own gain and was making a mockery out of actual survivors of domestic violence.

Drop Amber Heard as Mera, cast someone else in this role who actually has acting talent and let Amber Heard suffer the consequences that she has long gotten away with.

[–]HaykoKoryun 40 points41 points42 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

[–]xieonne 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It kind of is because of the patriarchy -- it's the assumption that a woman can't abuse a man. The patriarchy isn't healthy for anyone, male or female

Make Johnny Depp her replacement and make aquaman the first gay superhero, or just make it a buddy cop movie with the two lmao. Either way would be better than any movie with her involved lol

[–]heeeymrtangerineman 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Could be. That'd be the twist that finally ups Marvel.

[–]throwawayham1971 150 points151 points152 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

[–]jostler57 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And let’s be honest, she is a terrible actress. She was boring and bland in Aquaman. She spewed her lines like a high school drama club amateur.

It was absolutely atrocious.

I’m a professionally trained actor, so I would know.

[+]Lokimonoxide -73 points-72 points-71 points 6 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

If she pulled me off, I'd have a stiffy for about 5 minutes.

Edit: oof. Just a shit joke on a whim based entirely on the grammar of the post before mine.

Sorry, y'all.

[–]VapeBlowCatipiller 76 points77 points78 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

This comment is very telling to why mens issues never gain traction. And op I'm not trying to pick on you, we are all somewhat guilty of it. Hot chick, shitting person. We ignore the shitty person, and focus on the hot pussy effect . It's like Medusa trance that skips our big brain and instantly is processed by the little one. Tons of chumps out there to give her a pussy pass. Like guys never call the teacher raping there students creeps, but women sure do, regardless of attractiveness, and teachers don't even need to be that cute to get the pass. We need to start putting these women into their place, like women do to male creeps and assholes. And not just butt fugly ones.

[–]KingHavana 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Very true. Also shitty people with good looks very quickly realize what they can get away with, that others might not. Thus the whole process encourages them to simply continue the behavior.

[–]mcchanical 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

For me when I find out a woman is a morally bankrupt succubus I don't find them attractive at all. I literally don't care what they look like, personality can make someone ugly. Makes me sick to know that so many of us willingly enable this kind of toxic behaviour because we just can't put the titties aside for a minute and think. It's willingly being subservient.

[–]chintan22 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Apparently even Robert de Niro is an asshole but everyone loves him including me. It's called the halo effect.

[–]Homicidal_Reluctance -2 points-1 points0 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I think he's a cockhead and would have laughed if that scene in Joker were filmed with a real gun and live ammo

[–]chintan22 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Strangely enough, even in the theatre, I mouthed the exact words Arthur said before he actually said them, and was rather content when Murray got shot. It was a good movie.

[–][deleted] 48 points49 points50 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Damn, til today I was thinking JD was a spouse abusing trash, whereas the case is opposite. No media reported it like they reported Amber's lie. Damn

[–]Devidose 15 points16 points17 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Here's a possible eye opener for you; now think about other situations you've heard or read about which may be similar to this one, where early media reports turn out to be the opposite of what later is revealed to have happened.

[–]Putonsomepants22 46 points47 points48 points 6 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

This isn't cancel culture though. If Johnny Depp was guilty I'd be happy to boycott any of his movies. There's a difference between him actually beating his wife and having a different political view or saying something stupid on Twitter 10 years ago. She tried to destroy him. She deserves the same punishment. *edit- I'm actually gonna make this edit and just point out that i may have missed the point you were makinge because I kinda agree with you now. He was considered guilty before any of the evidence came out and i fully understand why that would be considered cancel culture. I will keep to my statement though that she deserves the same punishment he faced.

[–]Patrick_McGroin -4 points-3 points-2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call-out_culture

A variant of the term, cancel culture, describes a form of boycott in which someone (usually a celebrity) who has shared a questionable or unpopular opinion, or has had behavior in their past that is perceived to be either offensive or problematic called out on social media, is "canceled"; they are completely boycotted by many of their followers or supporters, often leading to massive declines in celebrities' (almost always social media personalities) careers and fanbase.

This is exactly what cancel culture is.

[–]Putonsomepants22 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I feel like this doesn't really change my answer but I edited it for for clarity anyways.

[–]brontide -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The point is with call-out-culture the damage is done. Calling out the true assailant now doesn't actually fix anything. We need to let these things work through the legal process because we owe the victim, the true victim, that justice. The court of public opinion is no place to do that, it has no due process and is often abused.

[–]Ryanami 18 points19 points20 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sure you do. The best way to undo a bad law is to strictly enforce it. They want to play cancel culture? Let’s play cancel culture.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

How do you beat it?

[–]VapeBlowCatipiller 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

By taking the higher road and keeping quiet and taking the double standard hypocrisy without any action. Plus never call out or shame our own self loathing brethren as they are still "men".

How's that working out for us so far?

[–]RagingHardBull 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. Sit down and shut up. That is what men have been taught. Never show their anger. Just endure.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points16 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You don't beat cancel culture by becoming cancel culture.

Maybe you do.

If you make cancel culture a threat to everybody, not just certain acceptable targets, opposition to cancel culture gains more traction.

If they can do it to you without fear that it will be used against them, what motivation do they have to stop?

[–]bryoneill11 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

90+ upvotes? Really?

This moralistic puritan bullshit is exactly wby men are losing and will keep losing until they got no rights at all. If you dont play fire with fire by their own rules, then you are an obstacle for the people trying to really do something about the injustice. You either help or get out of the way.

[–]NecroHexr 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But they won't cancel cancel culture until we cancel culture ourselves, thus giving cancel culture the bad name

[–]RagingHardBull -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No fight is ever when when a person just sits there and takes the beating with no response.

[–]admiralvolpe 73 points74 points75 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

While I believe what she did was horrible I'd also like to point out that nobody likes cancel culture. This point is no different than some feminists calling for blood. If she did bad things then let the system (courts etc) decide. I just don't understand why so many people forgot about proportionality

[–]God_King1257 38 points39 points40 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Hes right, this type of cancel culture is cancer no matter who does it. Why dont we boycott it instead? They wont listen to petitions.

[–]Smacers 34 points35 points36 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This petition helps frame the boycott and the results of the movie bombing. The boycott is only useful if people and the studios know why it's tanking.

Also I don't think this is cancel culture per sey. This woman should be jailed and fired for her actions, not just because of something she said or believes. She's a criminal, and the studio should have rid itself of her on that basis alone.

[–]CommitSudokuPerverts 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

This isn't "cancel culture". She a violent criminal and proven that she's a liar and thus not credible. That's a completely valid reason to not hire someone.

[–]admiralvolpe 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

can you define »cancel culture« for me?

[–]CommitSudokuPerverts 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Basically a group of people don't like the opinion or preference of someone which is mostly benign and personal, or they don't accept a claim that either isn't proven true, such as a claim of racism, or psuedoscience such as sex and gender aren't synonyms and you can choose your gender, and the public who don't like this harass businesses to stop associating with the victim.

Amber Heard has been proven to be a violent liar with open court documents. I wouldn't trust that person to behave properly as an employee. Just like I wouldn't trust Epstein to run a day care.

[–]admiralvolpe 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I just wanted to have you define it so you see how hard it is to define a term with the goal in mind that it gives you the desired result. There is no space to argue that what you advocate for is cancel culture. Just look how carefully you selected »opinion or preference« — unintentionally excluding »acts«?— so calling for annihilation for what she did doesn't fit your definition. Calling for blood because of some random act is cancel culture as well if you like it or not. What would you say if some idiots call for cancel because someone hired a man over a woman? There is no opinion nor preference of the employer in question. They just want to cancel him because of what he did. Want to tell me that that behavour isn't cancel culture?

You see: if you carefully define a term with goal in mind then some smartass will always give you an evident example that doesn't fit your your definition. You then either have to admit that your definiton is weak or that the evident example rightfully doesn't fit your example. Sadly most people double down and choose the latter variant, defending a lost cause. Don't let frenzy blind you and apply the same rules to people you don't like even when it's hard.

Proctor and Gamble 2019 SuperBowl messaging for boys - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koPmuEyP3a0

Message I got: Some men are okay, but most won't do/say the right things unless we shame them to. Boys need to change now so they don't turn out to be horrible people like most men are today.

I've got two kids four years apart. I'm supposed to be good with the negative messaging my son is getting at the same age my daughter got the positive messaging, but I'm not.

Let's be honest, Mera was only included so that she could be eye candy. She has had some nice comic arcs but she didn't really serve a purpose in the film that couldn't have been filled out by some other actor. She added very little to it.

[–]VapeBlowCatipiller 20 points21 points22 points 6 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

For someone that doesn't follow Hollywood gossip, is this something that has come to light recently? Has she been found guilty of doing this? I searched and only found that she's an advocate for domestic violence. No news stories of her being a perpetrator herself. Why? Can't even find anything that really says she's being accused of or previously been accused. Is it just taboo to accuse a pretty women of domestic violence and/or reporting on it? What am I missing here?

Also what's the term for someone someone who's a strong advocate for...let's just say stricter child sexual abuse penalties then is caught sexually abusing children?

[–]sakura_drop 21 points22 points23 points 6 years ago* (7 children) | Copy Link

It's an ongoing thing, and has been pretty widely covered - even for someone who doesn't follow Hollywood gossip I'm surprised you didn't see anything of it at some point over the last year or so, on this sub at least. However, that said, coverage has lessened somewhat since the tables were turned so to speak, so you're not far off re. the 'taboo.'

This blog page has a fairly good account of the situation complete with court document evidence. There's also a link towards the bottom to another blog that has a very detailed examination of the case, although for some reason I can't access it at the moment; not sure if it's just my end or the site's down temporarily or what.

Also, just type 'Johnny Depp' or 'Amber Heard' in the search bar on the sub - there are several threads dedicated to them.

[–]VapeBlowCatipiller 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Ok so that's kinda my confusion here. Blogs covering it, Reddit subs covering it...silence in any mainstream media outlet. Ok I get it, men are scum and don't matter. But if the genders were reversed, would the coverage in msm be equally non-existent? Is this being followed on non mens rights type subs? Of course I only did like a quick 5 min Google search so maybe I need to dig further. Thanks for the links. I will follow up on them later tonight.

[–]Osteo_Warrior 9 points10 points11 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

yeah it was covered quite a lot when she was accusing him of abuse. As soon as the tables turned and it was discovered that she was infact the abuser main stream media doped it, cause it doesn't fit their agenda. He was shit canned and no one would hire him for a long time except J.K. Rowling for the Fantastic Beasts movies (she saw through the bullshit)

Cardi B admitted to drugging, raping, and robbing men. No one batted an eye.

Katy Perry sexually assaulted a boy on stage. No one batted an eye.

Mainstream is not going to pick up on it for 2 reasons: too much backlash from the halo effect, and most people don't care what happens to men.

Oh even though I never really heard of the original bullshit, I do remember when the wife and I heard he would not be in the new PotC we both said no reason to bother seeing it without him. I think we both figured he was asking for too much $$ and they figured they could leverage the brand. I'm simply floored right now.

If she remains in the film I will not watch it despite my fondness for others in the cast. Knowing how harmful it is to be abused and defamed by a partner, I can not even look at that woman let alone pay money to see her.

There are many other women who could replace her. She is not that special.

[–]psa1721 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I’m not very aware of this whole ordeal. But I don’t think that this is the biggest issue at hand when it comes to all the societal flaws and double standards for both men and women. Amber Heard going to jail, however fair or unfair, is only a surface solution. The foundations upon which these issues have been created have to be fixed.

[–]Zaraxan[S] 8 points9 points10 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Lied about Johnny Depp abusing her when in actuality she was the domestic abuser. Got him fired from multiple roles and ruined his reputation. Now that it’s being shown she was the actual domestic abuser, nothing has happened.

[–]hectorduenas86 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Refreshing won't do much, if you are interested read about the circumstances and trial of their divorce and her attempts to pin a case of DV against Depp... as well as ruining his career. It's highly unlikely that most of us will go through something like this, but some scary truth came out of this... it took this man with fame, connections, unlimited resources, over 80 pieces of footage, (I think) 17 witnesses, affidavits and statements and a whole lot of money to prove his innocence. It took a couple alegations and some (possibly edited) photos to start a criminal case and character assassination campaign against this man, all of that spearheaded by a woman with history of domestic abuse herself.

[–]deviLz0r 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm a DC fan and I even liked her portrayal of Mera but in the light of recent evidence, WB should most definitely re-cast the role.

But.....she’s nice to look at lol. Plus $50 mill in damages? If anyone that wasn’t a celeb asked for that much they’d laugh us out the courtroom. Not saying she should get away with it, she should serve time in jail...just after the movie lol.

[+]Amazing_Rope_Police -7 points-6 points-5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sorry, I don't agree. Let her make her movie. People should be asking for her to be investigated and prosecuted - and hopefully convicted, because this is the exact type of behaviour that should get people in prison.

But attacking a movie won't do anything. Maybe she will get a bit ricker from the role, but she's already loaded, so it's not like she can't afford a good lawyer otherwise - on the other hand, I think cancel culture is simply disgusting. If you don't want someone to make money from a movie, boycott the movie, but don't attack the people involved. Additionally, while she is most likely guilty, this still foregoes her conviction, so this is, again - guilty until proven innocent. I can't support that in good conscience, considering how many times I have seen cancel culture ruin careers in the past few years.

And before anyone attacks me for defending her - again, I would exercise the same standards for men, women, ugly or hot, famous or poor. This is how the judicial system is meant to function. Mob justice and pressuring her employers is not acceptable. There are already good enough mechanisms available - namely, a boycott.

I applaud OP for spreading the word about this issue though, I wouldn't have knowm much about it otherwise.

Do we know she lied? Can someone give me a tldr?

Cuz Johnny Depp is a dick and has said he wanted an actor to assassinate trump. He's admitted to being on drugs and being physical before.

Now I'm normally for mensrights and I am a conservative. But I don't trust Johnny.

[–]Zaraxan[S] 13 points14 points15 points 6 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

It’s all public available court records that you can find. Her parents kept texting him following her claims of domestic abuse asking him to take her back. They blamed her lawyers on the claim. The officers that responded to the origional incident said they saw “No bruises or signs that he had in any way assulted her.” They also found no damaged property at the penthouse despite her claims he went ballistic and started breaking shit. Straight enough for you?

Also, it’s not an article, it’s a petition that outlines the reasoning for the stance. Leave politics and personal opinions of the people out of it. She lied, he lost jobs and his reputation was ruined. That’s all that matters in this case.

[+]Empress_Rach -7 points-6 points-5 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Which is why I mentioned I looked it up. Because it isn't an article.

[–]degenerate661 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Apparently there was cctv footage

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

82 hours of cctv footage from his house proves it.

But that’s the difference, people instantly believed Amber.

Believe all women, lmfao.

[–]Empress_Rach -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I said several times I didn't believe her just cuz she was a woman. I believed her cuz who Depp is. Also said in the edit I looked into it. And I was clearly wrong.

[–]immortalsperm -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

I respect and commend your honesty, I'm right wing too.

I hate Johnny Depp for what he said about Trump, but since you're a Republican, you know that just because we don't like someone's political stance doesn't mean we support getting his work/reputation into oblivion for a false claim.

I've always believed that the most rational, open minded and ready to admit "when they get it wrong" people are on the right and you furtherly prove my point.

Bless you.

[–]Empress_Rach 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[+]Empress_Rach -6 points-5 points-4 points 6 years ago* (9 children) | Copy Link

I read a bit and didn't see any real sources so I looked up the case...as I said...I don't trust Depp much either.

If she really is an abuser then fuck her (seems she is)...but Depp still is one of my least fav actors.

[–]chintan22 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

How about you don't play favourites and just avoid Aquaman 2 which I'm sure is going to be a pos. Money speaks more than petitions. Also torrents are cheaper and more versatile.

[–]Empress_Rach -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

True. Not much into the dceu anyways. Except gal gadot.

[–]chintan22 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

WW was decent as a movie, but then WB puts out joker, which I found better than anything in the entire dceu

[–]Empress_Rach 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Haven't seen it yet. Is it canon joker? Like I mean is it a DC joker or just a crazy guy? My roommate was gonna get it next weekend on Redbox and so I haven't really watched spoiler stuff. Just mixed reviews.

[–]chintan22 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

It's not canon. It's a completely independent and more realistic take on joker. More like a crazy guy. You can see his descent into madness. That's what it is about. No major action scenes and I can understand why people wouldn't like it, but I found it beautiful.

[–]Empress_Rach 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What did you like about it?

[+][deleted] -17 points-16 points-15 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Don’t do this. If we did this we’d be just as bad as the other side that does this for telling naughty jokes.

Take this on the chin and let her embarrassment follow her

[–]Lethn 12 points13 points14 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

But it's not a naughty joke is it? It's defamation, why are you trying to downplay what happened to him? I agree for the most part that she shouldn't necessarily lose her job over it but the way you frame it makes it out that you think she's doing something harmless.

She went out of her way to ruin a man's life, she didn't 'tell a joke'.

[+][deleted] -12 points-11 points-10 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

But all that happens is everyone turns into babies. He said she said.
