For all my life, I have been a pretty insecure guy. At some point, I decided that things could go on like this, and I had sought a therapist, who diagnosed me with social anxiety disorder. I was in my mid-20s, and I had precisely zero dating experience. I imagined how women would shame me if I ever dared approaching them (this cartoon describes it pretty well). Fortunately, the therapy was quite effective, and I was lucky to kiss a girl for the first time in my life at some point.

Just a few months after I my last session, there came #metoo, which set me back again. When I called my therapist, she said: "Oh, I had been thinking about you when this was all over the media." So I went back to therapy, and during that time, I met my now-still-girlfriend. Everything seemed fine, and thought I could say goodbye to my therapist for good.

Well, and then came International Women's Day. I heard on the radio how deeply sexist our society was against women. It made me feel like crap, and I started reading through some feminist newspaper commentary, which made things even worse. It was actually my girlfriend who convinced me to contact my therapist for the third time, who said that this is not anxiety any more, but obsessive thoughts. So here I am now, wondering if and how I will ever get rid of them, and what will come next.

It is just ironic how feminists insist that "toxic masculinity" was destroying men's mental health. You know what is actually destroying my mental health? Feminism.
