"A man in a room full of women is ecstatic. A woman in a room full of men is terrified." Over here, they are offering a couple of female-only classes in STEM fields, especially computer science. One introductory class is essentially duplicated for women, and they have regular project classes exclusively for women. It seems like these offers are accepted pretty well.

For comparison, a male-only class (where women are excluded) would seem totally weird to me. Even if the topic was really interesting and it was not provided elsewhere, I would probably refuse to participate for political reasons. Also, I like women, so why would I not want to have them around me?

So what is it with the women choosing to participate in female-only STEM classes? Are they so terrified of men? Or are they ideologically blinded?
