Hi RPW,

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 3 years now; he is 25 and I'm 21. I very much want to have kids when I'm a bit older, maybe around 27—I have lots of nephews and nieces and I'm really looking forward to that part of my life.

My boyfriend and I are pretty serious and committed to each other. He has told me that he wants to have kids in the future (3 or so), but he doesn't like to talk about specific details about having them. Like, if I make elaborate hypothetical scenarios that concern our future daughters/sons, he doesn't like to fully engage. It's not that he doesn't see a future with me (he has said he does), but according to him, it's unfair to promise or daydream about those things given the fact that we don't know for sure if we will be together forever (he is redpill and a realist).

I absolutely want kids when I'm in my late twenties, and I have no qualms about discussing hypothetical scenarios concerning that. So I suppose my question is.. if I keep talking to him about how much I want kids and discussing these future scenarios, am I really just freaking him out or turning him off to the idea?
