Oh look! Another business drinking the feminist kool-aid who'll never see another dime from me.

These businesses are making it easier and easier for me to save money for retirement.

Behold gynocentrism at work. Women need their own restroom because otherwise men will beat and rape and perv on them nonstop. Yet the statistically more at-risk population of transgenders are told to share a restroom with those subhuman brutes rather than the innocent female angels. They could also benefit greatly from the superior accommodations of women's restrooms considering the fact that some have to deal with significant physiological issues while transitioning.

But hey, at least we circled the wagons around the fragile and dainty yet strong and independent (???) women-folk.

[+]antilopes -9 points-8 points-7 points 7 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Trans women commonly do use the women's though, for preference and because they are physically safer there than in the men's.

I'd think the labelling is more of a practical move to deal with two things:

  • The common problem of queues caused by women taking longer per visit.

  • To help security deal with guys who want to make some kind of political protest by claiming to identify as a woman, by reducing their claim of victimhood from being redirected to the men's. I don't know how common a problem this is in the real world but it is increasingly popular idea in internet-world.

Much of the US is not yet ready for unisex toilets but they seem to work fine in other western countries. US men are being honoured as pioneers, leading the way and showing women how to cope with the mixed gender toilets which are the future, given increasing building density.

[–]lasciate 4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Look at what the labels actually say instead of what you hope people will interpret from them. They say men and anyone with any ambiguity should use one toilet and women alone have the other one. When you make a label that has to be re-contextualized to be interpreted "correctly" you leave the door open to people (perhaps someone in authority) interpreting it "incorrectly".

US men are being honoured as pioneers

by being unequally burdened? That's some hyper-traditionalist shit if I've ever seen it. Will you next espouse the glory the all-male draft brings to men?

[–]antilopes -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Gendered labels need context before you can interpret them. If I tell you there is a sign somewhere with "Women" on it, or the two signs in this example, without context you have no idea whether non-passing trans women or trans men are included or what degree of passing might be appropriate. With context you could make a reasonable guess.

It was said in our discussion of Five Guys last year that some locations have a town-planning rule that there must always be a separate women's toilet. (I guess those rules would have been made in the days when many businesses did not have a men's toilet and that was used as a justification for not employing women).
If they want to expand capacity by making toilets unisex, they are only allowed to do that with the men's. So burgers should be thrown at the local council receptionist, not the shift leader in the restaraurant.

In NY City the rule is that if there are more than one single-use toilet they must all be unisex.
You might think that neatly avoids all potential for people to project their anxieties about gender onto architecture, but that would be underestimating human ingenuity. There must be people for whom the existence of unisex toilets is a monstrous affront to civilisation and an evidence of the Jewish conspiracy to wreck the world with Cultural Marxism. Maybe this is a 2nd amendment thing, unisex toilets oppress transphobes by removing one of their weapons.

Got some numbers for that claim?

[–]antilopes 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

No. You could ask some of the oodles of trans women that are clogging up the world and creating such a problem with queues in the loos. They are probably happy to chat while waiting in the queue.

[–]tenchineuro 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I'm not clear on the numbers, but "oodles" seems a bit high.

But I was asking specifically about the claim of "physically safer", do you have any basis for this?

[–]antilopes 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

JK about oodles. The only significant interaction I have ever had with a trans person IRL was forty years ago, we hung out for a few days while I was hitching around the country. I recall meeting three others briefly, none in the last two decades. That's it for a lifetime.

I found a list of trans people killed in the US. Of those with a known killer there was one woman and five men.
The others seemed to be mainly killed with guns (ten of the unknown cases in the list below) which suggests men. Men get their first gun at 19 on average while for women it is 27 which is after peak murdering years I think.

Here's a list of 27 trans people killed in 2018, taken from news reports. The full number is unknown as the bio sex of the person may be all that is known at the time of reporting, and some police departments don't recognise anything else unless it is legally changed.
https://www.hrc.org/resources/violence-against-the-transgender-community-in-2018

The US Trans Survey on all types of non-cis people got 28,000 responses in 2015. This was in the happy days before the North Carolina law and the promotion of the trans war for the 2016 election.
https://transequality.org/sites/default/files/docs/usts/USTS-Full-Report-Dec17.pdf

pages 224-230 cover restroom experiences.
Evidently bigots have been brainwashed into following intersectional principles, dutifully attacking non-white trans people more.

12% of respondents were verbally harassed, physically attacked, or sexually assaulted when accessing or using a restroom in the past year.

59% avoided using a public restroom in the past year because they were afraid of having problems.

32% limited the amount they ate or drank to avoid using the restroom in the past year.

8% reported having a urinary tract infection, kidney infection, or another kidney-related problem in the past year as a result of avoiding restrooms.

[–]tenchineuro 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So what are the compatible numbers for CIS people who use the wrong restroom? Often men have no choice when they have babies as their are no changing stations in the men's restrooms.

And I'd need some verification for the sexually assaulted part, but, near as I can tell, this would be gay rape.

EDIT: I'm not convinced that this is an unbiased source. Do you have anything with verifiable numbers?

[–]antilopes 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If an official source existed the one I quoted would not exist. Surveys are expensive, even web surveys if they are well done. I skimmed the methodology, it was a lot of work.

I'm not aware of anyone trying to study cis people in the wrong restroom. I'd be surprised if they could get a worthwhile response rate, and I don't see what it would be useful for.

What sort of verification on the sexually assaulted part do you need?

You could read the survey question, and read about the pilot survey that was done. Pilots can include cross-checking to test the questions for validity or consistency with other measures. E.g. the NCVS tested to find out whether the number of rape reports to police claimed in the survey was the same as police records showed. Turns out it was. They also try asking the same questions in different formats to measure how differently people answer online, by phone, face to face etc. There's all sorts of tricks.

In a self-selected survey the pilot can be run on a truly random sample, using more expensive motivators on those who initially don't respond. Demographic questions will then show how skewed the sample of respondents in the main survey is. The value of a survey is much affected and demonstrated by the prep work before the main survey is run.

Go in, place your order, pay for it, then ask where the men's room is located. When you 'discover' there is no men's room, ask for your money back.

feminist kool-aid

I've said this on here before and I'll say it again. This is exactly the opposite of what the feminists want, at least the 3rd/4th wave, trans inclusionary feminists. When businesses do this they are basically saying trans-women still need to use the (pretend I'm doing air quotes) "men's room." The talking point from the LGBT friendly feminist is that trans people should be about to use whatever bathroom they want, not be forced to use the men's room.

The only political group I can see this type of move pleasing would be female conservatives who want the "men" out of their bathroom.

[–]XavierMalory 8 points9 points10 points 7 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

I guess it sticks in my craw because this is yet another male-only space that's being taken away. If we want to be all-inclusive, and not favor any particular gender, then both restrooms should be made "all-gender."

[–]kaytee64 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

I can support that, but honestly I consider any single stalled bathroom unisex. I'm not going to wait there while theres a petfectly good bathroom open I'm going in the mens havent been arrested yet.

[–]XavierMalory 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Based on your comment, I'm guessing you're female.

The day you get "caught" coming out of a men's bathroom, I doubt anything will happen, based solely on the fact that you're female.

I hazard to guess a guy stands a much greater chance of an altercation (legal or otherwise) if he were to do this for a women's restroom and be caught doing so.

[–]kaytee64 -2 points-1 points0 points 7 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

I have been caught at the gas station , I said dont worry I identify as a man which couldve been believable because my work clothes make me look like 14 year old boy. I have seen men do this I guess it depends on the place but ive never seen it be an issue, its just a bathroom its not like anyone else is in there. I have also gone in a full mens restroom with the wall of urinals not typically and no one was in there but yeah I can see a dude getting in some shit for that when I wouldnt but the implication is different, theyd at worst think I'm a hooker and at worst think your a perv rapist.

[–]nickolay1986 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

You're an idiot, if you want equality the accept all consequences and not only the positive ones. IDIOT!!!

[–]jameswalker43 -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

My friend! our deliberations could be more effective if we would follow the respectful online behavior

[–]kaytee64 -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No I'm fine but thankyou whats one more ban today

[–]kaytee64 -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Consequences for what

[–]nickolay1986 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Consequences that men are allowed in the female bathrooms as well and that has to be normally accepted.

[–]kaytee64 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

When did I say I cared what bathroom they used? are you for trans women using womens bathrooms?

[–]nickolay19861 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

If they became a men than the men's bathroom and the other way around.

[–]kaytee641 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I dont really care but hopefully theyre not offended when I glance slightly longer than usual trying to figure out what I'm looking at.

[–]nickolay19861 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Makes sence, I'd have the same reaction.

[–]nickolay19861 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

And sorry for calling you an idiot that was just stupid and childish from me.

[–]kaytee642 points 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Thanks, I was looking forward to calling you names in retaliation but il accept

[–]tenchineuro 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess it sticks in my craw because this is yet another male-only space that's being taken away.

It was the only male-only space remaining.

[–]turbulance4 -5 points-4 points-3 points 7 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Agreed on that point.

My point is, rather than blaming the feminists on this one we may be able to work together, if both sides come at this with a level head.

[–]masterdebator300 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Why are u here? Do u really think ur gonna convince anyone that feminism wants to work with mens rights? Just because u have these views doesnt mean other feminists have these views and if feminists had a handle in this, then maybe they shouldnt have made this mistake in the first place. Feminists dont care about mens stereotypes and mens issues and thats fine. No one is making u care. U have ur place, go there. Because here, no one cares. Feminism is our enemy.

[–]turbulance4 -3 points-2 points-1 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

if feminists had a handle in this, then maybe they shouldnt have made this mistake in the first place.

Feminism hasn't made this mistake. Businesses attempting (poorly) to conform to feminist talking points have made this mistake.

Why are u here? [...] No one is making u care. U have ur place, go there. Because here, no one cares.

You don't speak for all the people here, nor are you the arbiter for who is welcome here. I assure you I am more helpful here than you are, as I am looking to actually make positive changes, and you are simply looking for a reason to justify your hate.

[–]tenchineuro 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminism hasn't made this mistake. Businesses attempting (poorly) to conform to feminist talking points have made this mistake.

I'm pretty sure that the laws written leave them no other choice short of rebuilding. I know that's the case in CA.

[–]masterdebator300 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Mensrights was built on anti feminism. We cannot and will not ever work together. Ofcourse you are welcome to spout ur useless drabble here, im just saying uld probably get more love somewhere else for your efforts. Ever hear of r/menslib? They are a more "feminist" mens group.

Stop acting like we have to change and you feminists dont. We can all have our own creeds geared to gain what we desire. And that is a ok. We are not perfect and that is fine. Instead why dont you ask people why they personally prefer mensrights over feminism or menslib. Because many of us are socially conscious who have tried to live, love and accept these creeds, ultimately landing on mens right s for one reason or another. We are not mgtow generally which is probably what u think.

[–]turbulance4 -2 points-1 points0 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Ever hear of r/menslib? They are a more "feminist" mens group.

Yes, and I dislike that sub, as I'm not a feminist.

Stop acting like we have to change and you feminists dont.

Who is this we? You can only speak for yourself.

Five Guys has no restrooms for guys. Weird

[–]xxcups 25 points26 points27 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I would think their clientele is mostly men too...anyway, i was golfing the other day and instead of waiting I'm just going to start using women's restrooms (that are single occupant) and if anyone gets mad I will cold look them in the eye and say "I identify as a woman" then flick my head to the side and walk away like a model on a runway...

[–]peepeeandpoopooman 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

yeah. I make a point of boycotting companies that go feminist

[–]DJ-Roukan 3 points4 points5 points 7 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

It is illegal to not have both, and a violation of the IBC, the international building code encompassing the entirety of the US.

[–]SorcZerker 4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

IT'S MA'AM!!!

[–]RetrogradeNintendo 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I do this all the time when I have to take a fat shit. Although I do it in the men's bathroom too.

[–]Krabkakes95 21 points22 points23 points 7 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

So there is one women’s restroom and one “all gender” restroom?

[+]FidoRin1 points 7 years ago [recovered] (16 children) | Copy Link

Yes and no Men's room

[–]ezioconsulting 8 points9 points10 points 7 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

America is going crazy, thank god i left that retched country.

please save me

[–]ezioconsulting 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Hahahah come on down to mexico. The best decision i ever made

[–]my-2econd-account 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

considering i'm actually of latino descent, hell yeah

[–]ezioconsulting 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah. Im italian but i had enough and left fuck that

[–]ModsAreThoughtCops 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Because I’d rather deal with cartel violence and drug trafficking than avoid a business with terrible bathroom policies /s

[–]ezioconsulting 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The cartel violence is nothing compared to Chicago and other metropolitan areas in United States. Its only that Mexicans actually care about change and complain about it instead of just getting used to it like in America.

[–]ModsAreThoughtCops 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Whoa, it’s almost as if there’s more to America than Chicago and other metropolitan areas.

Are there any non-urban areas in America? I’m from Mississippi so I wouldn’t know about any more rural areas in the country.

[–]ezioconsulting 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

We are speaking of violence, in reference to the violence which is predominant in those cities. In comparison to the media saturation of the ignorant statements of the statistically proven facts in violence within the territory of Mexico.

[–]ModsAreThoughtCops -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don’t care about those cities. You said moving to Mexico was a great decision.

I’m looking at that statement from my perspective to see if it seems like a good deal.

And it doesn’t. Because Mexico is a terrible country when compared to America. That’s why so many of them try to come here.

[–]ezioconsulting1 point 7 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and everyones circumstances are different. However, immigrants are going there for the economic fluency. Me being of liquidly solvent financially, i am not in need of that fluency and not bound by the restriction. Therefore the other factors are preferable. The main topic of discussion was the issue stated above, everything else is of other determining factors.

[–]The-Worst-Bot -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I appreciate your enthusiasm for sarcasm, but to become a master you mustn't use /s.

You’re retarded

[–]jameswalker43 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]ModsAreThoughtCops -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I believe in freedom of speech, I’m not letting some bot tell me what I should and shouldn’t say. Supposed to be the other way around.

[–]PizzaSword19 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I’ve seen this at multiple places

[–]newaccount102456 10 points11 points12 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It seems like this should be a lawsuit.

[–]Pioustarcraft 19 points20 points21 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ok do this : Enter the women's restroom and do your business.
When a lady tells you "this is the women's restroom, get out !"
Look at her and say : "I am sorry, i thought this was the ALL GENDER RESTROOM"
Enjoy the irony of the situation in which women have no problem entering the men's restroom but are ofended when a man enters the female restrooms.

[–]majestic_tapir 5 points6 points7 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I'm kinda hoping this is just a step towards full genderless bathrooms tbh. Check it out with men, then roll it out to women once it's been refined.

I was at a gay club a couple of years back that had a gender less bathroom. Walked in, there were men and women everywhere, then a little sectioned off bit for urinals. No weird shit going on, was quite pleasant.

My only concern is that overall, women are disgusting in public toilets, so I imagine toilets would need more janitors

[–]Mac4491 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Agree. I've been to a couple of places with unisex bathrooms and there's never anything untoward going on.

women are disgusting in public toilets,

Having worked in pubs, yes they absolutely are. Women's bathrooms are disgusting compared to men's. If anything, I've found that unisex bathrooms are cleaner than both. Neither sex wants to show off how gross they are in front of the other.

[–]majestic_tapir 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hey that's a positive I hadn't considered right there, but wanting to show your dirty side

[–]PizzaSword19 4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

All gender bathrooms are such horse shit. There’s always one plus a ladies room

[–]BaconCatBug 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Just identify as female on that day. If they kick you out, sue.

[–]SorcZerker 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

IT'S MA'AM!!!

[–]vxd386 -1 points0 points1 point 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Right. And to mock them further, identify yourself after leaving the toilet as a man. And then as gender fluid. Then women again. And so on.

get woke and go broke

[–]fgrsentinel 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Honestly I don't get why they do this. I know places like Wal-Mart have had "family" bathrooms (basically all gender but also a changing station for infants) for years, but they have he common sense to not touch the concept of there being separate bathrooms for men and women. Maybe because they know they can't eliminate the only bathroom in their large stores that are exclusive to half their customers or the line would be insanely long and it'd get them bad publicity.

I've started (unabashedly) using the women's room in public so long as it's one of those single-toilet types.

Fuck the matriarchy

[–]notrlyjeses 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

it's called 5 guys, they should have 5 mens rooms.

[–]kaytee64 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I use whatwver bathroom is open if its a single stall I dont know why signs exists for those

[–]K570 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Eh, their food is overpriced and very unhealthy anyways. Just one more reason not to go eat there *shrug*

Either this is an exception to the several 5 guys I've been too, or it's a before and after collage. Every 5 guys I've been too has changed both bathrooms to gender neutral ones.

Man walks into the womens restroom "Pedo. Pervert. Rapist"

Woman walks into the mens restroom "Brave. Standing up to society"

Wasnt feminism suppost to be about Equality??

Lets create a new one "Equalist" Where its actually about equality

I already find most loos offensive in that invariable the men's are further to walk to and have fewer stalls, because standing among a bunch of strangers to piss on a stinky wall is good enough for us, huh?

Cunts.

[–]peepeeandpoopooman 1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

protest by going peepee all over the TP

Use the womens washroom, say you identify as a woman. Or piss all over the place in the all gender washroom/dont flush.

[–]Jackson2615 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is crazy, women can use either it seems? Maybe say U ID as female , use the womens and leave the seat up.

[–]silhouette951 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Looks like men should now use those totally useless sacks of potatoes to relieve themselves right?

[–]Mr_Shad0w 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why not just make all bathrooms for everyone already? It would probably save businesses some money, and theoretically would give some of the population one less thing to be "triggered" about? This is the stupidest "controversy" of the 21st Century.

[–]Ashenox 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just use the Women's bathroom instead. They are single occupant rooms so use is actually irrelevant.

[–]McFeely_Smackup 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

many states have adopted laws requiring all "single occupant" restrooms to be gender neutral.

[–]ethanjscott 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

just poop in the womens bathroom then, say something was fucked up about the other one.

I associate my gender according to my bodily functions, no sign on a doer will hold me back. Especially the illuminati. 😝

Overpriced, shit burgers. No problem boycotting on my end.

[–]HereWeGoAgainTJ[🍰] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just make them both unisex you fuckwits.

[–]TheNakedMars 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No more communal/gender based pooping and peeing! Problem solved!

Rather than large rooms with multiple toilets, have several private 'closets' that have a toilet and wash basin and can be used by anyone without reference to sex or gender.

CON: It might be marginally more expensive to construct and there would need to be some kind of deterrence system in place to deal with long residence poopers.

We don't have Five Guys in my country but I will never eat burgers and fries again.

[–]Thesushilife 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh look another restaurant I’ll never go to.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If they are single person rooms, then why bother making a distinction??

[–]xRisingSunx 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because nothing makes feminazis more wet in their panties than bullshit pandering by nationwide businesses who's changes technically help no one.

They are too retarded to realize that this business doesn't CARE about feminism, it's all about numbers. If all of sudden the KKK became the powerful group in the U.S. again Five Guys would have all their workers wearing white hoods and a sign stating NO COLOREDS ALLOWED posted out front lol.

Keep in mind that we dont know the story behind it, while yes they could have done that for more popularity they also could have been forced to do it, most likely someone threatened to sue them over this, if thats the case i dont blame them since they didnt have much of a choice, but if that isnt the case than screw them
