It's not, but some who are into Auto MGM for religious reasons will claim Victim Status at the drop of a hat or even a yarmulke.

Oddly, if you object to MGM you only get labeled as Antisemitic, yet more Moslems are mutilated annually. Why is the scream only of Antisemitism and not of Islamaphobia? It shows a pattern of Tribalism and Bigotry that is wafer thin.

Some lack the ability to make rational arguments which use facts and evidence, so they use "Emotional Abuse" and "Blackmail" in the place of rational behaviors and hope that others will be duped by the dishonesty. They happily bear false witness by misdirection in the hope that they won't be caught out. P¬))

Now, because I am active in the anti-circ community, I know that this kind of garbage is fringe, and most anti-MGM people have zero special interest in Jews and are, in fact, aiming their efforts more at the much-larger American gentile population who still circumcise and might possibly be talked out of it.

But if you are a Jewish person with no particular interest in the issue, all that's ever likely to percolate through to you is the obvious Jew-hating material that gets forwarded around.

I personally view circumcision done under religous believes as problematic. I'm an atheist myself, so i dont know if cutting off a foreskin is bringing you closer to God or strengthen your believe. What a society can do to prevent potential damages from butchered surgeries is to make sure that doctors are well-educated (after all, it CAN be a necessary procedure) and that parents are informed about potential risks.

Freedom of religion is one of the reasons that the US were labeled "the country of the free" and i believe that this practice is one of the most controversial of those we allow, but stripping away those rights might cause more unrest and a bunch of other problems than just ensuring that the circumcision is done right.

I still believe that any medical procedure that's unnecessary is a risk that should, in doubt, not be taken. We should focus on preventing circumcisions done under "cosmetic" backgrounds first rather than enter a space that could tangle with one's religon.
