If that’s what they want I’m glad for them, however, there seems to be an insinuation here that having to work with another living thing (even a pet) would somehow infringe negatively on what they consider valuable, so the list itself, reads like a child rebelling against their parent’s authority - ‘when I grow up I’m going to eat ice cream everyday and stay up all night jumping on my bed.’

I’d gladly trade love for most of the things that list deems important.
