This highlights one of the flaws in our trial by jury system. When a little girl accuses a "dirty old man" of molesting her it's a heart wrenching story and people want blood, so out go logic and reason and in come rage and anger. People get found guilty because people want justice for shit that never happened because someone lied about something that gets people's blood boiling.

What's really fucked up is that there are psychologists whose job is to rig juries. There's debate over the accuracy of it, but there's a market for it, and I'm confident it works to at least some degree.

Anyway, the sentences in the USA tend to be far too long. In Europe he would have been in prison for a couple of years and his life would not have gone totally down the drain.

Disgusting. If the daughter approves, the mother should be sent right to prison.

The daughter should be commended for coming forward after all these years to free an innocent man. One only wishes she could have done it sooner.
