The woman filed for another order for protection against him in August 2016, saying that Parisi sexually assaulted and stalked her. That order was dismissed in October after another settlement.

Court records show the woman had filed orders for protection against other people in unrelated cases.

This all has a whiff of Attention Seeking by her. I can see why Parisi wants to stop her ever using her as a vehicle for attention seeking again, and why others would need and benefit from such protection.

It's nuts that the law professor has to justify himself to the public for suing her when she intentionally lied to have him thrown in the slammer for three weeks. $50k doesn't cover even half or what he is owed.

In addition, laws in Minnesota should be changed so that the perpetrator (the false accuser) can be criminally charged not just for filing a false report. This is not a simple case of perjury, corruption of justice or filing of a false police report. This is a case of an intentional lie by woman who caused a man (the victim) to be imprisoned.

It's not just a lie and a reputational injury to the professor -- it is a violent crime committed by the accuser against the law professor, resulting in his arrest (form of physical battery), detainment (form of physical false imprisonment) and jailing (very serious form of physical false imprisonment).

The fact that this woman used police / authorities as her unwitting accomplices in carrying out her violent criminal act should make no difference to the essence of the crime.

Her treatment by law should be more akin to the way the law treats a man who captures a woman and locks her in his basement against her will, than the way the law treats a simple perjurer or false filer.

It's also fucking interesting the newspaper reporting this story is still shielding the perpetrator's name, despite the fact that it appears she made a false allegation and was not raped by him. Since when do journalists "shield" the names of perpetrators who are not minors?

I applaud his reasons, but Alan Dershowitz had a similar experience and tried the same thing. It is not slowing them down. This is something that needs to be actively prosecuted.
