That's not terribly helpful as it doesn't provide the entire context of false rape studies and so makes it look as though we're cherry picking statistics in the same way feminists do.

I'll highlight some high-profile cases in which the accused men were exonerated and the accusations were false:

Brian Banks, convicted and jailed in 2002 for rape, exonerated in 2012 - note that while imprisoned and labeled a sex offender, Banks' accuser met with him and admitted that the accusations were false and Banks secretly taped these meetings and had his convictions wiped from his record.

Duke Lacrosse, 2006

UVA Fraternity, 2014

Singer Conor Oberst, 2014

NHL player Patrick Kane, 2015

There's a clear pattern here of successful men having their lives ruined (in the case of Banks) or nearly ruined by women manipulating the public opinion towards rape. This is my biggest issue with "rape culture". Notice in every one of these cases, the media and the public created hysteria and branded these men as criminals before they had their day in court or without solid evidence. Yet where is the punishment for these pseudo-activists? The Duke case is one I really feel strongly about, given how well-done the ESPN documentary "Fantastic Lies" exposed everyone. A group of professors at Duke posted photos of the entire lacrosse team and labeled them as rapists and criminals. As did high profile media figures such as Nancy Grace, and yet the only single figure in the documentary showing any remorse was Nancy Sheehan, of the Raleigh News & Observer. No one else showed one bit of remorse for railroading these men, as were the same for these other cases.

False accusations ARE a major problem. There's clearly a pattern here.

Take those with a grain or two of salt:

MacLean deemed reports "false" if, for instance, the victim did not appear "dishevelled" and Stewart, in one instance, considered a case disproved, stating that "it was totally impossible to have removed her extremely tight undergarments from her extremely large body against her will".

18 cases is nowhere near enough to claim statistical significance.

I find this interesting as well. What is important is to look at the methodology of all of the studies and compare, otherwise it looks like cherry-picking, which is what feminists do with their 2% number they always include.

I am inclined to believe the 40% number as the low number.

When people claim under 10%, they are only claiming the allegations that are VERIFIABLY false by police investigation, meaning that police investigated until they could prove it to be false. Police have always been far more likely to just drop the investigation once they knew it was not true. Today, they are instructed specifically to not uncover evidence that would prove claims to be false.

The 8% number from the FBI was taken from 1996, long before the change in the definition of rape made false accusations much easier to make.

These numbers under 10% don't include cases that were recanted before trial, ones that were proven to be false by the prosecution's investigation, proven to be false at trial, or exonerations. It also doesn't include the roughly 20% of allegations that are truthful, but the act does not meet the definition of a crime, meaning no crime was committed.

These are all things to take into account when looking at the methodology.

I've found that the best methodologies converge in the 40-50% range, which is in line with what seasoned police officers and some DAs expect it to be, including the sheriff in Laci Green's video.
