You know what. If you wanna do this in a Yankee Candle or a Victoria's secret or any other location whose customer base is mostly women, then fine. It's efficient. I can't hate on that.

But then we reserve the right to do the same thing at auto zone, gamestop, etc. Of course that will never happen so....

I'll use the women's restroom if it's empty and single use. I try not to, but I'm also not pissing my pants while there an open bathroom just because of some symbol on the door.

What WA law is it that requires this? I'm not aware of any. If they're thinking of the transgender bathroom law, that only allows transgender men and women to use the bathroom of their preferred gender rather than of their birth gender. There's nothing in that law that says, "Turn men's rooms into anyone's rooms!" If a business chooses to do that, that's on the business, not the law. They could have just as easily decided to make the women's room an anyone's room, or made all single-occupancy bathrooms into an anyone's room.

The problem is it's pushing the narrative that men are evil pervert rapists that are a threat if they use a woman's bathroom. It's not even about convenience or how many women and men are actually in the building. There's a double standard that people are uncomfortable with men using a woman's bathroom, but have no problem with women using a man's bathroom

If I lived in WA I would organize a "piss in". Get 50 men to go to places that don't provide bathrooms for men and just start pissing wherever. If you treat me like an animal, I'll act like one.

As long as there is either:
* A) All restrooms become "anyone" restrooms-- meaning male AND female restrooms; or
* B) There is (as another poster suggested) a male's restroom, a female's restroom, AND a "anyone" restroom,
and not just men's rooms being taken to be "anyone" restrooms while leaving female restrooms alone, I see no problem with the situation.

But if it's only men's rooms being taken away-- and basically giving women the privilege of being able to use the "anyone" restroom while stripping men of the privilege of having a restroom of their own- like women currently have-- then I would fully be supportive of petitions and protests against this change.

Maybe try getting all men you can (or women that feel angered by this (although let's be real here; what women wouldn't like having an additional available washroom)) that go to the restaurant to stop going there until it's either Women's+Men's or just Any+Any.

The owners of the restaurant don't have to respond. The owners may not care about gender equality, but they do care about income, and that's one way to influence them.

I do live in Washington, haven't really heard more about this, but I do know they started making "group" bathrooms more available main reason being transgender second being families with people who need help with the bathroom(assisted living/kids/elders). I don't remember anything about them taking men's rooms and converting them to family rooms.

In Korea I was in a restaurant bathroom using a urinal. When I glanced at the mirror I saw a woman walk past me. For a moment I panicked thinking I was in the wrong restroom then thought, "Wait, I'm at a urinal..."

As it turns out it was a unisex bathroom. Seems like an efficient use of space to me.
