I had mentioned to my Dad that the gender pay gap doesn't exist. I told him it doesn't because the statistics were calculated using the average full-time employee wages, and that it doesn't take into account that men and women often get different jobs.

Me: "If you look at engineers, most of them are probably going to be male, and if you look at kindergarten teachers, most of them are probably female."

Dad: "Yeah, but the problem is that employers for engineers often hire men more than women."

I considered this for a while. Are there any statistics for employers hiring men as appose to women?
