"Sometimes paranoia's just having all the facts." - William Burroughs

I'm in my thirties and have a girlfriend but I'm not about to judge young men for taking this path in the current environment. Feminism has created a situation where practically anything a heterosexual man does in relation to women can be framed as "sexual assault." A young woman doesn't even have to be malicious to level a false accusation, she might have just been brainwashed by her gender studies professor or have some feminist "friend" whispering in her ear.

In the old south, black men went out of their way to avoid being alone with white women. Even corporate executives are now taking this route with female employees -- refusing to be alone with them lest they get falsely accused of sexual harassment.

So no, it's not surprising that young men are doing this. If the goal of feminism was to create the most toxic environment possible for male-female interaction, then, well done.

[–]bertreapot 12 points13 points14 points 10 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

this is why i have been avoiding dating as well. reading articles about what modern feminists consider "sexual assault," it encompasses nearly any romantic interaction a man could have with a woman. watching a show where a guy brings home a girl from a bar makes me cringe.

then again if i meet a grounded girl i can trust it's not like i wouldn't date her. just in general men have to be much more careful then we were, say, 20 years ago.

[–]_LordFlies 12 points13 points14 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

it encompasses nearly any romantic interaction a man could have with a woman.

Indeed. Holding hands without permission could literally be construed as sexual assault according to yes means yes, and some feminists are trying to codify these outrageous concepts into law. The fact that many of them are lesbians makes it even more bizarre/creepy. I wouldn't dream of lecturing lesbians themselves on how they should sexually interact.

I wonder what your definition of a radical feminist is. My guess is women talking in any way about how unequal society is threatens you and your privilege, and so you make misogynistic comments on the internet to feel powerful again. If you intend to live in peace with women I suggest you respect them as human beings and stop denying your own privilege. It is completely unacceptable to go about your life treating women the way men like you do. I'm not saying you are fundamentally a bad person, but I hope you take my advice and grow up. If a women confides in you about something that directly effects her life, you do not get to tell her that it doesn't just because you as a male don't feel what she is describing.

And since you never raped me, rest assured I will not be reporting you to the police.

Let me explain something to you - using irrelevant statistics to argue a point isn't a good way to debate. Your references don't pertain to the actual subject. If I felt so inclined I could pull out a few real statistics to argue that global warming isn't real. And I'd be misguided, just like you are. You may deny it all you want but make no mistake, you have proven that you are consciously and subconsciously sexist. Good day. ps yes the equality cult is a thing, we gather once a month over lunch and talk about how we wish we were treated like actual human beings.

May I ask what opinion you were expecting in this subreddit?

'Gee, the relationship between the genders is at an all-time low, and the legal system will throw me in jail if I displease them enough, but golly-gawrsh, those girls are so nice and pretty!! I want to spend all of my time and money on one RIGHT NOW!!"

Feminism has created a situation where practically anything a heterosexual man does in relation to women can be framed as "sexual assault."

3rd wave feminists are building a system where every man is one though crime away from being hauled off by the police, especially the creepy ones.

[+]skepticalbipartisan -40 points-39 points-38 points 10 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

If you're worried about such things happening then you're probably not as innocent as you let on. It's not Feminism's fault you aren't comfortable around women, it's your internalized misogyny showing.

/sorry :P

Have to agree completely with you on this.

[–]_LordFlies -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago* (4 children) | Copy Link

You're getting trolled buddy ;)

Skepticalbipartisan was being sarcastic.

[+]iPussyCat -22 points-21 points-20 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Na I'm not.

The idea that men should avoid women in general, is the stupidest thing I ever heard in my life.

If you guys want to down vote me, then go ahead. But it doesn't change the fact that this whole thing is stupid.

[–]_LordFlies 4 points5 points6 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I don't believe that "men should avoid women." Not at all. And I'm pretty sure 99% of the posters here wouldn't agree with that either. Must of us have wives and girlfriends. What I'm saying is that I understand why some young men are growing paranoid. When feminists are trying to make "holding hands without permission" a crime it's easy to see why. The solution is not to demonize these young men but to change the cultural narrative.

[+]iPussyCat -13 points-12 points-11 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I agree, but making articles and making this type of stuff go viral, is not going to help. Yes I agree there's some people that are dumb as fuck. Gender, age, culture, etc... Has nothing to do with it. Ignore the stupids and move on.

That said, it's kinda pathetic to hear someone say they avoid women cause one of them did so-so to some guy. If anything this type of nonsense is what throws fuel to the fire. The more attention these type of idiots get, the more power to them. Learn to just tell people to fuck off and ignore them.

[–]_LordFlies 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That said, it's kinda pathetic to hear someone say they avoid women cause one of them did so-so to some guy.

Well, my own interpretation is that this guy doesn't mistrust women, he is just horrified that he can be sent to prison or have his life ruined based on an accusation by a woman, and is therefore playing it safe by not getting into relationships or just using escorts.

Like I said I don't take that position myself, I'm happy in my current relationship, but then again I didn't grow up in this insane neo-puritan environment created by feminists. So instead of demonizing hardcore MGTOW's I think we should change the narrative and yes change the laws. This madness can't go on.

I dindu nuffin!

[–]ee4m[🍰] 33 points34 points35 points 10 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I was out with a bunch of 19 year olds on friday.

I was looking at the ones that are paired off, the young men were needy and under the thumb, the young women were capricious and had them wrapped around their little fingers.

It was pathetic to watch.

[–]SigmundFloyd76 18 points19 points20 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

So it's exactly like when I was 19 in 1995?

[–]ee4m[🍰] 8 points9 points10 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Possibly yes.

Maybe Im just more tuned in to it now then I was.

[–]SigmundFloyd76 17 points18 points19 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

My point was that woman have always had the real power; despite what's been drilled into our heads.

But I imagine it's much different these days. When I was 15 there was this 17 year old girl at a party who was letting all the boys feel her boobs. They were the first boobs my hands ever touched. She's a lawyer now and a perfectly reasonable person. It was "normal" human behavior. She knew what she was doing and she liked it.

I imagine these days that the police would be knocking on some doors if it happened today. But the truth is that I can't really speak to today's dynamic.

[–]ee4m[🍰] 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think the power has probably increased since then, a mere accusation didnt have the same weight, people wouldn't think about making complaints about such minor things and the authorities wouldn't be as likely to respond to them.

[–]I_Have_3_Testicles_ 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Raised by single mothers.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And the ladies flirted with other men openly, yes?

[–]ee4m[🍰] 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Not that I saw, the openly wielding their control. Like one ordering one in from the smoking area and another just looking at her phone ignoring the guy who was wrapped around her. One was sitting on her bf knee and taking to people, leaning across and putting her hands and arms on my legs to support herself, as if she was just entitled to touch me. It was really attention seeking and trying to tease.

[–]SigmundFloyd76 27 points28 points29 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

it is about "ejecting silly preconceptions and cultural definitions of what a 'man' is". It's about "looking to no-one else for social cues. Refusing to bow, serve and kneel for the opportunity to be treated like a disposable utility." And, it's about "living according to his own best interests in a world which would rather he didn’t".

Well said.

[–]Argosy37 15 points16 points17 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

He's not wrong - his only mistake is going public because now someone can more easily falsely accuse him since his name is out in the open. But perhaps that's strategy - trying to publicize the situation in hopes that it will affect some larger changes.

[–]-Fender- 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or the strategy was that it would be ludicrous to accuse him of sexual harassment after he previously so publicly described how much efforts he was making to limit his interactions with women to avoid this exact thing.

[–]BigJ76 10 points11 points12 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well in all honesty, that is unfortunately a smart decision. The false accusations of rape that females levy seem to have no bounds or statute if limitations

Thank god I'm bisexual. If I don't find any reasonable trustworthy woman, there's plenty of men to choose from as well :D.

[–]Leinadro 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Is he MRA or MGTOW?

[–]Alkomb[🍰] 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, he has a good point, though.
Dang, a really, really, really good point.

One lie can screw his whole life up.

[–]energyinmotion 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Now I know what MGTOW means. Yay! I've been wondering (and forgetting to Google it) for a long time now.

TIL that I'm "MGTOW."

[–]pnw_diver 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He is a smart guy!

[–]AeneaLamia 3 points4 points5 points 10 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Personally, I hate this. If men simply bow down to the system out of fear, what chance do we have?

[–]FruitierGnome 6 points7 points8 points 10 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

More that do it the better. Force them to stop these laws.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

yeah that's the way to make that happen...

[–]FruitierGnome 2 points3 points4 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

When women start getting treated like men in public they might start to see who the real monster in society is.

[–]TheWheatOne 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You say it sarcastically, but I actually agree. The more this happens, and it already is to a notable statistical degree in western countries, the more debates are forced to take place. Just look at the standard "Where have all the good men gone?" articles already up. Even if their standard argument is to shame men, it still laughably is making even the likes of Jezebel look at questions they otherwise ignore completely.

[–]AeneaLamia -1 points0 points1 point 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Who's going to breed then? Feminist white knights who teach their children the same ideals? Who is going to be left? The fight for freedom for all is not going to be won against such massive numbers.

[–]Millenia0 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Finally theres something positive about being an untouched virgin!

[–]TheDude41 1 point2 points3 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's not worth it anyway. The vast majority of females are absolute crap at sex.

i find it offensive in the same way that if a woman said "i wont have a boyfriend because of the risk of him raping me"

The hysterical paranoia of all men being rapists or frequent enough to prevent you from a normal life, is no different to those who cry rape when no rape exists.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'll never understand why people bring complete strangers to their home.

[–]Tmomp 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Many of the things he says sound reasonable and choosing not to interact with who he chooses not to interact with is his choice. As for his activist goals, cloistering himself in his room and not interact socially will limit his effectiveness. If he wants to change people, interacting with them more will be more effective.

[–]TSwizzlesNipples 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

A girl I met when I was in high school told people I raped her. I never even saw her naked.

The kicker is I only found out because one of the football players was gonna kick my ass, but his sister (who I went to church with) convinced him that that was something I wouldn't do and she later told me about it.

Scary shit.

[–]ThePigmanAgain 0 points1 point2 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Seems to me you're safer with casual sex, at least they don't know who you are.

[+]Ovendice -20 points-19 points-18 points 10 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

All true. He left out the part about how women in the West have become extremely butch and mannish like men and are repulsive to a normal heterosexual man.

You would have to be a closet homosexual to be attracted to someone so masculine. Plus, they belch, fart, are tatted up, have fucked 100 guys before they met you and are STD infested and most women today don't even bathe: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/shockingly-4-5-women-dont-5215165

That's just how far downhill the Western female has gone down the toilet and sinking further by the minute. When you absolve yourself of all standards, you become an abomination, a creep and abhorrent. And that is what Feminism did for women; an excuse to not have normal standards, shame or accountability. Basically a cockroach.

So in other words, he isn't missing anything anyway.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's totally legitimate to be turned off by women who don't practice the traditional feminine arts and, no, that by itself is not misogyny. But to imagine that traditional women don't exist at all anymore? well...I don't know that that's what you believe, first of all, but in any case it's not true.

I'm not sure that women have ever showered daily, though. They don't typically need to like men usually do.

And are there no tattoos that you find feminine and tasteful on a woman? I mean I guess there's no accounting for taste, but I'd have thought that most of the tattoos I see women getting would be considered pretty feminine.

[–]GaryGibbon 7 points8 points9 points 10 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

ok, now, you actually are a misogynist

[–]Demonspawn -3 points-2 points-1 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Having standards for women is misogyny?

[–]Wargame4life -2 points-1 points0 points 10 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is no different to a woman claiming she will never have a boyfriend because she is afriad he would/could rape her.

If you scoff at that, you should scoff at this. being hysterical wont solve/help anyone and this kind of batshit reaction is the exact same thing we give shit to the moronic male deamonizers out there.
