It seems that the naked male is not treated with any respect or equality at all in the USA.

Also in the USA, and only the USA, female guards in prisons are allowed to observe naked male prisoners in the showers but male guards are banned from female shower areas. A double standard. I cannot think of any other country in the world where male prisoners are observed naked by female guards or vice versa.

There seems to be something in USA culture which makes it OK for females to see naked males, prisons locker rooms, but not the other way around. In the UK you can even request same gender doctors and medical staff, there seems to be a lot more equality in this area.

I also note that int he USA quite a lot of women would use the men's restroom if the female one has a long queue but I do not think this is at all common in the UK at all. Some women have been arrested in the UK for it.

rules are different for NFL to WNBA.

in the NFL, after the game is over, the players have 10 minutes to change and shower and everyone on the team showers. this is why Clinton portis has referred to 53 guys being naked. at the end of 10 minutes, all the male and female reporters are allowed inside and they can stay as long as they want. A few of the bashful players, get caught with their towels on, so to speak. kinda of hard for players this large to put on clothes with a towel around them. they have no privacy.

this next part probably pisses them off more than anything. If they have 3 practices in a week, the lockers are open to all the press, so they have to change with media there when they go in and again when they leave. these guys are naked a lot. some guys are bothered by this and if one is unhappy, it violates his rights. imagine this, you go to school and have enough talent to make it to the nfl and make millions of dollars, only in the end, you have to get naked in from of people who wont make in a lifetime, what the player makes in a year and also risk the fact that your ass might be caught on camera and put on the internet.

in the WNBA, all male and female reporters are allowed in the locker room for 20 to 30 minutes. once the 30 minutes is gone, ALL reporters must leave. At no time cameras are allowed in the WNBA lockers. some females have the option to shower and the ones that do, the put a robe on.

Simple solution, allow the males 20 minutes to shower and change or do away with all reporters and cameras in the locker room. NOT GONNA HAPPEN AND heres why.

The NFL would lose a ton of money as all those interviews are paid by sponsors. The commissioner only cares about money and so big deal if some players rights are violated. The reporters hate being in the dressing room and the players hate them being there as well. This whole mess is caused by 1 person, Roger Goodell.

it would be funny if a player told this to a female reporter. All woman want equal rights but theres no way we can be equal, as long as im standing here naked in front of you and you are fully clothed.

Theres no doubt that some female reporters might look at the guys but most are there for the interviews. If you in a locker room with a lot of naked people, its gonna be hard to miss. why would you want to look in a locker room when you can go find much better on the internet.

I may be wrong but I honestly cannot ever recall seeing video of a female athlete being interviewed while changing in the locker room. You'd think if this was as essential to the fan experience as claimed you'd see more interviews of Alex Morgan wrapped in a towel answering questions while surrounded by reporters.

Irrelevant. Ive never been filmed changing either. Then again, I work in IT, where that doesn't happen.

Whether or not media is allowed in the locker room is up to the organization that governs the sport.

For instance, I am allowed to work from home. My wife is not. No matter how unfair my wife claims this is, it is not discrimination because we work for different companies.

Same with NBA/WNBA. They are two different organizations. If one allows locker room cameras and the other doesn't, that isn't discrimination. That's two different organizations with two different sets of rules.

If there was a coed sport where the men were filmed and the women wernt...Discrimination

If all (or most...or half...or, hell, even a good chunk) of the players were complaining, writing petitions, etc about this, that would be a shitty work environment. I would call it hostile.

As it is, it seems noone really cares except for a couple of the players and a few "definitely not professional players but I'm offended on behalf of men everywhere on the internet" types.

I am hesitant to call this hostile work place as it doesn't seem anyone who matters really finds it as such. It definitely doesn't fall under discrimination. Not even close.

What if your boss told you or your wife that you would now be required to be filmed while you are changing, or find another career.

You have to ask why is it allowed in some cases, almost exclusively in men's sports, and not others if it is supposedly so important to the fans?

The NBA has substantial operating involvement with the WNBA. If the situation was reversed you'd hear plenty about discrimination. Just like all the complaints about the pay gaps.
