False accusations happen, but they are so rare that it is extremely unreasonable to just assume that an accusation is false without additional evidence that it is false.

Should we just assume an accusation is true without evidence of it being true? Intellectual consistency is a bitch sometimes.

This line is starting to look really threadbare these days, isn't it?

[–]solaria_mra 17 points18 points19 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

People (some of whom are actually guilty) say things to defend themselves against charges in a court of law?

Now if that isn't patriarchy and rape culture at work, I don't know what is.

Don't you know? everyone in prison is innocent

[–]Erociter 14 points15 points16 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And, the most outrageous statement by men to many feminists currently at the forefront of their movement:

"I'm innocent"

[–]Bukkake_Monster 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What's even more outrageous is showing audio and video evidence of the consent

[–]junoguten[S] 26 points27 points28 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Apparently proof of rape culture: guys don't wanna be accused of rape.

[–]xNOM 11 points12 points13 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

lol men accused of rape should just shut up and go directly to jail, apparently.

[–]TracyMorganFreeman 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Society must be pretty down with raping when no one wants to be associated with it, right?

[–]xynomaster 28 points29 points30 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Funny, women accused of rape try the same thing: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/louise-aspinall-teaching-assistant-accused-5820501

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points10 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fucking nailed it.

[–]Macismyname 10 points11 points12 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

An accused man claiming to be innocent is now an outrageous claim?

Regardless of if the crime ever happened, denial of the crime by the accused is pretty much the least outrageous possible outcome. Who the fuck would be like, "Yeah man, I raped her. That's on me this time guys."

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

i find it very interesting that according to this article you are responsible for your actions when you are drunk, but if you have sex with a drunk women who consents it is rape. Nice double standard feminists.

[–]tallball 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

This is something that really stood out to me from this article as well and blatantly shows that equality has nothing to do with modern feminism

[–]bertreapot 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

it's funny because by holding men accountable regardless of their level of intoxication, but by never holding women accountable, feminists are slowly eroding equality for women. sooner or later we'll be treating women like helpless children again. if you want equality, it has to work both ways: you have to face responsibility, for both good actions and bad. saying you're entitled to the good without facing detriment is the fantasy world of the simple.

[–]DavidByron2 24 points25 points26 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

This makes sense to feminists because they think all men are rapists.

There's really no other perspective from which this article makes sense. Whenever I point out that feminists believe that all men are rapists, someone comes along and say oh NAFALT or feminists don't really believe something so outrageously bigoted. So please can anyone explain this article in some other way to me? This is a vanilla feminist web site. It's not "radical". It caters to a mass audience of feminists. And the assumption it is making of it's audience is that they all "know" men are all rapists.

[–]jb_trp 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yup, all men are a rape just waiting to happen.

[–]bertreapot 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

i've yet see a feminist say "well let's wait for all the evidence to come in before making a rush to judgment" or "you know maybe he didn't do it." feminists are 100% sure that every rape claim is legitimate. the fact that they do so shows that they lack the capability to be objective and fair when it comes to these accusations.

[–]solaria_mra 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I don't agree that Everyday Feminism isn't a radical website. I think it tries to come off as moderate with its tone, but the actual content makes me as enraged as any feminist bullshit I've seen on the Internet.

[–]DavidByron2 8 points9 points10 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's just describing feminism as a whole.

[–]sociopathwithrice 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's kind of the point they're making. The ideas are radical, but the target audience is not. The women writing and commenting on this consider themselves part of the sensible "everyday" feminism that rightfully defends women against oppression.

In actuality, while they may not be as overtly toxic as someplace like Radfemhub, they still have the distrust and disdain for men that you need to in order to buy into patriarchy theory in the first place.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Funny how there are no 'moderate' feminist websites...

Kanin. 41%. Feminists will never acknowledge this, of course.

I never got round to reading the five points because the screen suddenly became filled with a screenvert with this legend:

EVERYDAY SELF-LOVE COURSE: Turning Self-Love into a Daily Habit

To be honest, I think everything you need to know about what's wrong with the crazy-ass end of Feminism is encapsulated in that one headline.

So . . . assume guilt until he's proven innocent (and even then . . .)?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Everydayfeminism is a shithole. Every feminist organization is a shithole. Every feminist campaign is man-hating.

Yet they scream constantly about how only a tiny minority of feminists do these things...

[–]closetedapostate 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

LOL, I suppose feminists think that women who knowingly make false accusation with malevolent intent are the real victims, not the men who could actually go to prison for years and have their lives ruined. It'd be truly disturbing if anyone else besides these craphead feminists actually believe that women who make false accusations are the real victims. The amount of mental gymnastics you'd have to do to believe that nonsense is ridiculous.
